    That's true with a but....

This is NOT a typical launch, so don't compare this to the GIANT mmo's previously released like AOC, Vanguard, War and others.

This particular launch has ONLY about 5,000 people. That's it.

It's true that most launches have issues certainly, but major games had 500,000 to 1,000,000 people hitting the servers, NOT 5,000 or so.

I'm sure they will get a handle on it but lets keep this real. They really shouldn't be having this many issues with such a SMALL amount of users. That's all I'm saying.

So, from what I gathered from the "New Update"  was they will be selling more pre-orders tomorrow morning post-launch.

i don't know why people are complaining though i downloaded the game fine installed fine, and patched fine,

just waiting for the order server to open

they already said it was gonna be a limited release and they have gotten way more traffic than they intended .

    how is this bad?

some people are just bitches, i don't know "shrugs"

Quite a few, actually. Do you realize that what you just said to me has been repeated probably 1,000 times today. Have you ever participated in a MMO beta? I have. In fact, I was in Darkfall's Beta.

    so stfu.

How the F**K was my information incomplete or incorrect when i was charged successfully 3 times.

Its offcorse rediculous to say that pre orders who did not come through, its there fault while they have been charged lol.

Man, some of the more hardcore fanboys have ran with the "troll" term.. Don't enjoy the game: Troll.  Have any little bit of critism: Troll.  Have any doubt about Aventurine: troll.  Have any technical problems with the game/account management: Troll.. Sure, there are quite a few real trolls (ie people who post only to inflame forum threads for their own enjoyment), but many people who are branded trolls, are not infact, trolls.. Critic does NOT equal troll.  There is a big difference.  There are some very reasonable concerns/critisms on how AV are handling things.  I have been around MANY mmo launches, and sure, you should expect some problems, but that doesn't mean people can't bitch about them.  We should want this genre of games to IMPROVE, and not voicing your concerns because the game/company/whatever is new will not help things.  There have been plenty of releases with only small hiccups.  If the playerbase do not bring these problems up, what motivation does the Dev team have to fix them ASAP?

  • TyranixTyranix Member Posts: 104

Well now he's gone from blaming other companys to blaming the customer for the pre-orders not going thru. Ya just gotta shake your head.

I know I entered my info correctly and that I have plenty of available credit. I even called my bank and asked if I had any declines (NOPE) . So this is all on their end. Don't let them BS you

You are exactly right.  I've noticd it too.  So many ignorant POS posters running around calling everyone who thinks this is a bad launch, or thinks that Aventurine has horrible communication skills, a troll.  What the fuck is wrong with people these days??

    Here's an example:

Person 1. registered today: I don't like the lag I'm getting.

    Fanboy: Try Harder, troll.

It's just ridiculous.. and to think.. these is the "darkfall experience".. I say they are the bottom feeders in the world labeling anyone who's against them a "troll"..

Actually there have been a few examples of pretty smooth launches...

    WAR (US launch) was o.k.

    TR was pretty good

    CoH/CoV  was very good

    LoTRo was excellent

There are MMOs that have done it.  Yeah, it's usually the exception rather than the rule.

Agree with this post, the word troll seems  to mean something completely different now not even just to darkfall fans.

I remember when troll was a joke thread pretending to be serious to catch some idiots out adding to the humour.

now its just a general term for haters, flamebaiters, flaming, being negative/skeptical or just disagreeing...

Or folks who have a legitimate billing issue with AV's POS system.

there is a fine line between being critical and verbal diarrhea of the mouth .

i have seen people spam useless stuff then turn around and ask where to download the client .

then i have seen people bitch about release that have preorders and say they will cancel there account ....and say the games not worth it.

even though they where in beta and bought the preorder.

    talk about asshats.

He does have a point there.

If Aventurine had a decent person in charge (basically NOT Tasos) I have no doubt this would have went much better for them.

Most of the problems they've had over the last week aren't as much to do with the game itself as in it's coordination, planning, and execution.  All steps that a competent director/producer should have been able to organize.

The vast majority of DarkFall's problems the last few days can be squared placed on Tasos.  Hopefully DarkFall will be able to weather his incompetence.

QFT. I really couldn't care less of an mmo developer is indie or not. Your billing (how you fucking take your money IN) is business basics 101. Doesn't have jack shit to do with whether you've developed an mmo before.

It's just some business basics that should have been taken care of ahead of basically everything else.

Cause if enough folks have trouble with your customer service, newsflash, they are NOT GOING TO STAY SUBSCRIBED.

ANY BUSINESS should know this. I don't care how fucking new people claim they are.

nope i wouldn't be on the receiving end ,because i know from experience to wait until a couple days after a game launch to try and get in.

because as the saying goes "fools rush in"

that's why the game is patched and ready to go on my end when they get there stuff straignted out.

or don't pre-order unless you are willing to accept that you might not get to play on launch day. Both very valid and intelligent choices.
