Put this into perspective, there is no way to prepare for hosting a 2.5GB file for 10's of thousands of people without wasting 10's of thousands of dollars in bandwidth over 24hours. The conjestion will go away within a day or so, just like it did with final stress test. You'll still have a week or so to play, and that's enough time to get a character to 25-30 if you play a lot (i'm lvl 17 but can only play an hour or so a night and longer on weekends) Oh and trust me it's WELL worth any amount of hassle to play this game for free.

No matter how awful the download of free beta (the game you get to play for free) is, not a soul will remember of even care a month from now. People might bitch and moan about problems with downloading a client, but once you have it, you wont care anymore. Has no impact on the game at all.
