Debit Cards

BaenorBaenor Member Posts: 4

Sitting in IRC, i noticed a lot of people were using Visa or Mastercard DEBIT as opposed to a traditional credit card. While I am reasonably sure this makes no difference on either Aventurine or their billing partner, perhaps this is common among all people that had the transaction failed error after the zero charge error?

If anyone isn't using a debit card, post here debunking this theory.

Ditto. However a debit card with Visa/MC/Amex etc. logo is supposed to work as a credit card. My interpretation of debit card was exactly that, a bank card.

BTW. My debit went through for the pre-order but not the regular. Put in a different card number, we'll see what happens.

It seems this theory has been debunked.

Did anyone change any details on the account page (ie. password) without retyping the stars in the credit card?

This is another theory of mine as to why the transaction may have failed.

    Visa Debit... failed.

EDIT: I've also called my bank and asked them if there would be a problem with a foreign transaction and they said it should be fine.

I did not touch account management after preorder until today. I still succeded in the pre-order payment but not the final.

I used credit. I'm trying another credit card to see if it makes any difference.

Looks like this is just a complete failure then.

My card is a Chase "check card" with the Visa logo on it. Is this the type of debit card you all are saying is failing??

Okay.. I used Debit first.. no charge whatsoever.. I called my debit card/ bank and they did not even see a denial.. So, Im assuming that globalcollect or whatever cant even process debit cards. I switched to a credit card (Visa).. called my company and they are allowing overseas purchases on it.. So, whatever happens.. Im completely ready on my side. I hope it works!

Someone in my guild just reported on our forums that they used a Visa debit "check card" to place their pre-order and they have been in the game playing today. Though they did mention that they haven't been fully charged for the game yet.

This thread caught my eye as I am waiting to order the game with my Visa Debit / Credit card.   I asked a group of my guild who has been playing since this morning, and many of them used this type of card with no issues.
