I didn't have a chance to play beta... so this is my chance.
After what I have seen today, there is no way I'm going to play my main character on EU1 Server.
Seems like all the Beta Testers have experienced this dsync problem before.
...and some evidently know how to exploit it.
Guild Cities popping up left and right... doesn't this cost like 10k Gold?
Saw a large group of Alfar sploiting some Minotaurs as well.
People roaming around with some fairly nice looking sets of armor/weaponry too.
I'm not saying they are all sploitin... I'm sure some of the guilds are very well organized and just know what to do, and where to go.
I look foward to testing this game out, and figuring out the ropes this weekend.
Then once things are in working order, hopefully EU2&3 will be out.
Should be a much more balanced start by that point.
...and all the OMGwe'reSOuberPEWPEWsploitWee guilds will stay on server 1

Being that the game has not officially released, i'd say pretending its beta is pretty accurate.
I'm Awesome, Deal With It.
Don't pretend anymore... it's the beta. Just a paid one.
if i get in by the time they have 2 servers im definatly going to go to the second one now
thanks!
Game is gonna die quickly if they don't fix the exploiters and the like what? 10 clan cities already built? If it keeps on like this the population of the game will be like 30 guilds with their players because there will be no point to play if your not in one of those guilds.
Sad to see that people in beta were more busy findin exploits and not reporting them than actually doing the opposite...
Clan cities are not difficult to build... especially considering all the places are just stones that need to be claimed.
I could get about 500gp an hour by myself killing goblins. 20 people doing that could get more than enough money to setup a clan city (especially since I'm sure everyone knows where they are by now).
I don't see how, when there are 8-12 other people running around the goblin camps...
With... just a few goblins to kill.
Maybe in beta.
You had to travel away from the cities to find spawns to farm that weren't camped by the crazy nuts engulfing the goblin spawns around the racial cities. There are goblins spawns in other places out in the wilderness as well.
As far as pretending it is beta. It was even worse than beta. It was really bad today and I am very surprised they didn't take the server down. I guess they wanted it up because they thought it was important on launch day but leaving it up the way it was, was just as bad or worse. Damned if you do or damned if you don't but they were damned anyways.
It was an ugly day in the game. Way worse than any day I spent in beta. It needs to be addressed and fixed or they will have big problems in the future. They did a good job of fixing things in beta for the most part. I hope they do it ASAP with the crazy inviso shiznits going on today.
Really? 500gp/hour from goblins would be like 50 goblins. thats almost 1/minute. I spent over an hour trying to successfully bring down 4 of them for the first quest. They spawn slow and there is always other players around and add the sync problems to that and you will never ever make 500gp an hour from goblins.
Please don't defend the sploiters, it's just pathetic...
I looked and looked.... everything else I did manage to find, could just kill me very easilly.
Mainly due to invisible ranged mobs. ugh
I was really surprised at how barren the world seemed...
Also, my guild earned the gold for our guild charter and we claimed a city. All you have to do to claim a city is place a bindstone. Its not a city but the most meager of things needed to claim it.
I don't know about other guild but we did our totally legit. We had a plan and though the crazy inviso stuff was going on and set us back, we still stayed orgainized and determined and met our goals. I am sure most guilds who had experienced beta players within their ranks, had plans as well.

Based on the posts we are seeing here it looks like pretty friggin' accurate drabble...

Teamwork? I think my guild had 30-40+ guys on today. They acted in teams to keep people out of the camps and to block off people from getting to the guildmates farming mobs, gold, and loot to get the guild and clanstone. It really isn't hard to do or understand.
Last I heard they moved on to dungeons which had far less people and were making huge hauls on non-buggy mobs. Seemed like they were having more problems hitting each other because of sync issues than the mobs hitting them.
A great reason to wait until a server opens up that had no beta players on it. No fun playing a competitive game with people who got a jump start due to their beta knowledge.

Thank you. But until the official site says so, and ordering is open worldwide, the game is still in beta.
Im still waiting on my key. :
Their forums said the game is launched, that's official enough. Just because their main site isn't updated doesn't mean it hasn't launched, I was playing it 30 minutes ago and I WASN'T IN BETA.
Limited release = a type of launch, and it has opened worldwide, just not to everyone.

yeah, I was with an organized group of people and we'd split into two or three smaller groups and control spawns fighting others trying to take them over. Several of us had beta experience and were able to get right to it. The learning curve the first couple hours will set people back and then not knowing what kind of mobs are where.
Any guild that had beta players really did have a big advantage over others who had none or over solo people. I guess that will be the same for those playing for the first time today if they move to a new server in the future and mingle with first timers there.

Harmonica is a good guy. Don't think he's defending them. Just telling it how it is from his perspective.

Well, being that we can still sign up for beta, and no-one is allowed to register.... and the official forums are down. Its in pre-paid-closed beta. Sorry, I only rely on official sources for information, you are a beta player, not an official source.
I'm Awesome, Deal With It.
yep Harmonica is a good guy and I didn't see anywhere in his post where he even talked about exploiting let alone defended it.
As far as beta testers having an advantage. Its that way with every game and even people who are new at launch will have advantages over others who start the game late or join a new server that these vets join as well.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with that and it should obviously be expected.

So Tasos saying the game launched and the servers went live wasn't an official source?
Right.....
Oh damn that completely slipped my mind. Guess I'm in trouble when NA releases rolls out.

There you go. The game was officially released on the 26th trying to say it wasnt is just plain bah not gonna insult no one.
Mmorpg.com has a very good rep when it comes to updating games that have been released. if you see on the top of the page it clearly says
genre: Fantasy
Status: final
You are playing the final released version of the game. It was officially released in EU as of the 26th. Not that on this website it does not say closed beta or even open beta.
There was no open beta get on the right page.
As for the exploiting issue. I highly doubt it. Many players were in the close beta and knew where to go and what to farm.
This leads so wondering why didnt they even do a open beta and prospone its release. No mater what even if they clean the servers and make everyone restart , the beta players will know where to go and what to farm and get the advantage early over those who never played and got access to the game.

Beta access for guilds has always been about information first, beta tester second. Why apply otherwise? Its a snigificant incentive to know precisely how to "cut the corners". Frankly id be stunned if there was a single guild that went into beta, and didnt exploit this chance to find all the locations, mobs, and err other stuffz.
Simple:
In no other MMO has the "Beta Advantage" been.... such an advantage.
It's all about PVP, It's all about getting ahead of the curve...
How are us.... noobs.... supposed to compete.
...I just hope all these Beta Peeps stay in Server 1.... cause I won't be there.
