Darkfall hits my WoW addiction for 12,953 (Critical)

KedoremosKedoremos Member UncommonPosts: 432

For some reason I can't play WoW anymore after playing DF today. It's not like DF has been working right or anything - believe me, it hasn't. I can't kill anything and I've died more than a few times from mobs I can't even see.

But there's something I can't put my finger on that's making me keep going. Even after I got frustrated with the interface. Even after I literally screamed like a girl when some magic using mob hit the ground in front of me with a ball of lightening.

I tried logging into WoW to pass the time whilst waiting for DF's sync issue to be fixed - that was a big no go. I could'nt play. I tried to move my character to check my mail. No go. I tried to repair my shit, even THAT turned my stomach. My wife, my lovely bride, begged me to run her noob ass through RFC on my DK, with all that is my heart and soul I couldn't even double click his fucking name on the char select to login.

Darkfall, what have you done to me?

Shown you real excitement and fun in an MMO for probably the first time in a while. Welcome, and if this patch fixes the sync issues, I can guarantee you you won't be going back to your old game anytime soon

Welcome to the light sir! I played Wow for a total of about a week.... But i was coming from SB/UO so you can imagine my bordem, from not know who maybe hot on my trail, to kill these 10 things and get a gift. Lame. But im glad it makes you sick now, it ruined alot of decent pvpers lol(dont know if you are or not but)

and not everyone says that about new games.... i HATED WOW DOAC AOC LOTRO COH/COV KO... and many others most i quit with in days. For lack of intrest to just poor design. I really hope the hype holds up for those really despretly needing a change. As for me ill just play SB till i can play this =D

Not in my case. I've played every, single, MMO that's on the market. This is the only one that's made a dent in my WoW addiction.

So, a WoW carebear noob decides to waltz into Darkfall? Don't QQ in a month when you get roflstomped and ganked over and over by the hardcore mofos.

Just kidding, but sadly everyone would be saying that if you had said, "I tried Darkfall but didn't really like it, I came from WoW". Pathetic, ain't it?

I dont want the Wowers to run off , i want the noob battles in hopes they will learn what a pvp game is about and get decent enuff to give real battles later on. Domination is great till there is no domination to be had.

I stayed red in UO for almost a year. Also, at one point in my life I was rank 20 on the Tribes OGL 1v1  ladder. Tribes was a pre-Half Life FPS game that was a pioneer in that it had points to control and allowed you to choose your weapons.

I wouldn't say it ruined good PVPers. I'd say it made us wimpy. We stopped being cold blooded because the norm in WoW was not to kill the opposing faction on site.

Hope it lasts and hope they get stuff going. Be fun to get ganked and have a consequence other than running back to your body. I miss the  exhileration of challenge and penatly from failing in games.

Heh yea i hear ya, i went to EQ for a while (well i say a while but it was more like years) on RZ(PVP) and that actually was fun for a while. Till POP came out and the devs let people come over from other servers geared =(.  So it made me abit soft for abit as well then i went back to SB for a few years lol, and play on UO from time to time (free server UOGAMERS)

You know what I miss? The freedom of UO. Yeah it was slow and the lag blew and the people (on my server) didnt' speak much English but it was FREE (as in freedom). I once put a big map of the UO world (I can't remember the name now...) up on my wall in my home office and threw a dart (seriously, I had a dartboard in my office) to tell me where to go that day. It took me a long time to get there but it was an awesome journey. I died a few times and lost, maybe, 2 suits of this sweet copper armor that made me look like a Roman soldier. I can't wait to do that in DFO.

I was spoiled by Asheron's Call a long time ago. Most other mmorpgs were based too much off Everquest. I always hated that. It's a terribly limited advancement system.
