Pathetic whining

GrungusGrungus Member Posts: 8

We all know the launch hasn't gone that smooth.  We all know it's basically an indie game with roughly 24 employees total. We also know that its a game with good potential and something that could possibly change mmo's forever, at least for us UO / AC / SB players that have come to love the risk vs reward system.

Has anyone here seriously expected this game to launch flawlessly? Is anyone who loved the 3 mentioned PVP games not willing to put up a little money and a little time to support what could be a great game? I hope all the immature whiners do get fed up and quit. Make room for the people that know what a huge undertaking this is and are willing to at least see what happens and don't have crazy expectations.

This forum and the Darkfall fans are so overrun by pathetic whining, and people that feel so entitled. Yes you payed for the game and yes its basically a beta test. If you didn't research what you were purchasing or somehow didn't know it was going to be like this the first few weeks to months, then you deserve losing your money. I, on the other hand, will continue to be patient and try to do everything I can to help this game make it.

Anyone who reads this and agrees, I have this last thing to say. I'm not trying to be a completely biased fanboy, but on the other hand try not to let all these whiners get to you. Hopefully its a case of the overwhelmingly loud minority as tends to happen.

The carebears from other games with nothing better to do than troll here should get a life but actual fans have the right to complain about how this was all handled. This launch was horrible and the billing system was an epic fail. The actual game is great though we just wish they would sort out the server issues and the billing problems.

yeah come on people, you actually expected something you paid for to work, what were you thinking and how dare you complain about it  i mean they delayed the game for a month because they didnt have billing/support in place, arent you glad they delayed instead of releasing a buggy product? what a bunch of ingrates!

The fact that so many people are willing to pay money just so that they can beta test DF (and thats exactly what they are doing), should be a good indication of just how shitty the current state of MMO gaming is.  I support AV because they are trying to bring back game mechanics that have been put on the shelf over the last 10 years in order to accomodate the new rush of simple minded gamers that hit the market after Y2K.

But make no mistake, I dont blindly support AV like alot of these flamboyant homers do.  If another risk vs reward sandbox game comes out I will most likely check that out too.  I think AV has the right ideas but I also think they suck at executing some of those ideas.

If you see Aventurine as a charitable organization, speak with your wallet.   Buy several accounts.

I think the majority of us who are willing to give them our business and our valuable time organizing gaming groups and the like within their product (and so driving sales) don't see a game provider as a charity though.   You can bet their investors don't.

Maybe the problem is there so foolish they expected it to launch so flawlessly. If you couldn't see that coming than losing $50 is the least of your problems

I lived through 3 weeks of beta testing with no complaints other than standard bug reports.  I hope today was some sort of stress and data gathering test, because it had no business  staying up otherwise.

I was impressed that it didn't crash on their end though, even if it was totally unplayable.

I have never seen anything so screwed up stay online that long before.

There is plenty of complaining to do now.

I agree somewhat but I'm not saying its a charity. Call it an investment in fun. But what I'm really saying is this was completely forseeable, and maybe a lot of the whiners should have done a little research, or if you don't want to invest or give charity then by all means wait and see how it turns out.

I doubt anyone honestly thought it would be even remotely close to flawless. But some of us selfish people who have been charged our 42 euro might actually like to be allowed access to the game. Asking too much?

Folks, after 9 years of MMOing (EQ1 2000), I find players still fall into 2 categories:

    1. Carebears - whiners

    2. Care(less)bears - whiners about whiners

    Lmao..........

By the way, you shouldn't worry about what others say about your MMO. Instead, simply worry about whether or not you enjoy it. Don't fret the folks who obviously have issues and want to make you miserable too. JUST PLAY YO GAME and kick b u t t.  Haha.

Take note JohnCreed. When you and others call the names (carebear, fanboi, etc) you show you are on the defensive, which means the offense is winning! Lol.

    Have a nice day!!!

Most people would have been fine with a buggy client, or out sync errors messing with gameplay.  What most people are really upset about is that guilds with beta testers in them have already exploited the problems.  A majority of this gameplay was based around open world PVP and guild relations/wars...now guilds own everything.  They are decked out, own clanstones, and have gotten magical items.  So now how are we supposed to play against that? ....we aren't

I have not played the game...dont plan on playing it as it just doesnt sound like the kind of thing I want to play, however, i do have to laugh at people who complain now about the game. It not like anyone can say they werent warned with all the argueing and badgering going on on all the forums. I mean really if you werent sure about the game in the first place and not willing to put up with what would obviously be a buggy release why did you not wait till post release to buy the game and see what actually happened?

The indie excuse is the most pathetic of them all. When you pay full price for a product, you should not have to analyze the size/experience of the company who made it.

What is it with all you first time posters who simply MUST make a new thread, spreading your allmighty "wisdom"?

preachin to the choir bud, given aventurines track record i dont see how anyone but the most rabid fanboys could believe that the launch would go flawlessly.  if the servers are up i would expect to get in if i paid for the game, currently that isnt happening for a lot of people. i would rather they go complain to darkfall customer support if it exists but alas they are here because the forums over at darkfall arent working either. deal with it or dont read the threads.

Wow, is this the state of MMO's, now.  You pay them to beta test their product.  That is not a normal business practice, and shouldn't be.  They promised a product.  They had people PAY for that product.  Now, people are upset that they didn't get what they paid for, which they have absolutely every right to do.  Adventurine is a business, not a charity, to say so otherwise is just wrong.  If this is a new way of MMO developement, "pay to beta", I want no part of it.  Adventurine is a business and should be held accountable for their shortcomings.

Bugs, downtimes, even the fiasco of their forums being down for many days now I can understand.

The billing issues and the preorder disaster is bad though man.   How many of us spent countless hours on that foolishness, and still not close to through the process?

I'm not saying we should give up on them.  I'll continue to give them a chance.

But not indefinitely.  If it were only me, sure.   But I run a multigaming community - and I'll not recommend the game to our folks knowing full well that it is of questionable value.   That just isn't responsible or ethical.

This billing issue cannot be underestimated for wine into water effect, and the critical eyes it has generated.

    But, anyway.

I think because a lot of people had fun in beta...and expected the game to actually be the same or better on release.  I don't think it's a question of people not being sure about the game....it's quite the opposite.  It went from being a pretty decent game to an unplayable suck fest in a matter of a few days.

A man walks up to some shepherds sitting under the shade of a tree and compliments them on their beautiful sheep.  One of the shepherds says to the man, "if you want you can go fuck one.  go ahead. any one".

    "Really?" the man asks."Thanks!"

So he walks up to a nice plump one and fucks it good.  As he walks back towards the shepherds he can see them all laughing hysterically.

    "What's so funny?", he asks.

"You picked an ugly one!" they retort in unison, tears in their eyes.

Grungus, you are a sheepfucker just like the DF whiners.  You just pick different sheep.

This attitude is exactly my problem. You know its created by 24 people right up front before you purchased it correct? In any way did you spend the money thinking 24 people would launch this game flawlessly knowing that much larger companies can't even pull that off. This is exactly my point, that you feel entitled to some awesome launch experience. What you are entitled to is doing a little research and maybe a little thought about the fact that your unwilling to put any work in or put up with any downtime. Once again if you couldn't see this coming maybe losing a few bucks is the least of your problems.
