It looks like you're new here. If you want to get involved, click one of these buttons!
1) People not being able to play the game for one reason or another (pre-order problems, account problems, cc problems etc). This should be fixed asap because there are already voices out there calling out for server wipe out (because those who are able to play have an advantage over those who can't etcetc.) - Now I've been in numerous beta's and releases the past 15 years I've been playing MMOs and I can say that such problems existed in all games, however, it seems that there are quite a few more people with such problems in Darkfall. Now, even this never justified/justifies a server wipe out at least imho, if this justifies a server wipe out in Darfkall (which, in this case would also mean a server shutdown till the problems are fixed - which could take days) is something only the devs know because only them know how big this problem actually is. (PS: From "MMO experience" I would never hold my breath for it lol)
2) Synch - invisible mobs/players issue. - This issue is total game breaking. I can't imagine many people left playing the game if this continues even after a week or 2. Personally, after a week or 2, I will just /del Darkfall. The problem appeared in beta too, but it was fixed soon after so lets hope this will be the case now too. Imo, it occured due to huge server overload and given the fact that there was no stress test during beta, we're stress testing it out now :-/
3) Terrain/world black loop holes. Now this one is strange. What happens is this: People run into some problem in the terrain/world, they crash and when they log back in game, they crash again. If they log back in game after - say - 20 or so minutes so that they could log back in their bindstone, as to avoid this constant loop crashing, they won't. They will again log in the same problematic spot and continue to loop crash. Somehow the server is not being able to register their current location and/or being able to take them back to their bindstone or something. The only solution to this problem - mind you - if you call it a solution, is to *delete* your char and make a new one, so you can play the game.
What is also strange about it is that, I was in beta in a big alliance, more than 500 members and that problem was only reported a very few times. After some repair or reinstall it would be fixed. Now, at release, we had a party of 10 going on and 2 of them got stuck in such problem. 1 of them del his char and made new one 7 times, the other 4 times, before they both quit.
Personally I roamed half the world in beta and I never crashed from terrain/world problem. However, I did crash once after release, but for my good luck, I was able to log back in at my bindstone.
This one is also a priority too, as it affects quite a few people, since through my alliance at release I saw quite a few people (not many, but quite a few) having this problem. All I can think of is maybe they downloaded corrupted files. If not, this is one more issue that could end up be gamebreaking to those who have it for sure. If it happens to me after a couple of weeks (even more so as the time passes) and I have to del my char, I'll del the game instead.
4) Taking advantage or exploiting if you want of the AI to get money and gear. - There are many ways to take advantage of the AI for easy money and gear. Water, acid, body blocking, corpse tanking, etc, combined with mobs not reseting or changing aggro etcetc.( I won't go into details for obvious reasons) - All these problems were repeatedly reported in beta. Imho, the devs, not having much experience from MMOs, didn't realise the major impact this would have to the players/community at release so they didn't give it the proper priority (even though they did try to fix the corpse tanking exploit at the last patch before release). However, most other "exploits" made it in release and the community now gets outraged about the easy way "those who know" (before they find out themselves) get to make money, get clan city spots so fast, gear up etc. - This one is of top priority - imo - as well. You can not simply have such mechanisms to get easy money/gear. Esp. when crafting costs so much and there's no way anybody would pay dear money to buy a crafted item when it's so easy and free from grinding mobs. No way to be able to establish a player based economyy when money/gear aquired is imbalanced to money/gear crafting and spending. No way to establish a balance in the community and the game's gameplay when some guilds may purposly continuaslly take advantage of it to gear up all the way / all the time.
Top priority imo - no more spending time adding colors in chat lol
Best regards,
Poisonus Stug in Darkfall

Uhm you forget about the total lack of content and features beyond a basic generic click fest combat simulator and bad crafting system
Who cares..take it up with Tasos plz. I bet you had nothing but good things to say about DF a week ago and now you are here ranting .

This is a better combat system made by an indie dev team with more imagination than Tasos and crew..

Thats only the superduper world class military grade AI taking an advantage of you, Don't worry!
Playing: AC2
Played: UO, DaoC, Horizons, Ryzom, WAR, LotRO, Eve, VG...
Some content is there and more is "getting in there". These issues have been discussed many a times hence I didn't mentioned them now. Bottom line, those issues are not game breaking now and there is the potential. We got a decent sandbox to build on. Some content to go through initially, some quite fun archery/magery regarding combat (with melee combat needing some more tweaking as top priority indeed) and a basis of a crafting system that could develop just fine if they attend to it properly. - However, as I said, at least imo these are not game breaking issues.
I only posted this post to mention the current major issues.

Dude, can you get off your freakin fanboism? I AM playing the game. I AM enjoying it. That doesn't prevent me -however- to post some major issues that will end up breaking the game? Why did I do it? Because I DO want the game to succeed.......DUH
Wtf is wrong with you fanbois? Seriously now.

This particular problem reminds me of the Anarchy Online release and launch back in the day. (Funcom)
Your character would walk into an instanced vendor shop, and buy stuff...go to zone out and not be able to get out. The Gms weren't able to rescue your character, so you ended up with a character that had literally disappeared into a black hole in the game, never to return.
I think thats why people started naming their characters ..ie: Joe 12345 etc, depending how many times they had..had to recreate their main.
Funcom eventually did fix all these issues..and about 5ish or so months later, the game was more playable, and definitely more fun.
I haven't bought the game yet, am still sitting on the sidelines, reading up on things...but I just want to say I have been in on quite a few closed betas over the years, and eventually if there's the funds to do it..games get fixed and playable..well for the most part lol.
So don't give up yet...I don't think any gaming company deliberately sets out to fail, and thereby lose all their time spent and money invested, that wouldn't make sense.
A little time, a litte patience may pay off in the end. Here's hoping your game gets fixed so you can play what you paid for.

Very good post.
I agree that if the syncing isn't fixed withing the first week that will do it. I mean, who wants to continue playing 7 days of not seeing other players or the mobs?
The pre-order problem was a disaster, but on the other hadn, i don't know alot about that crap and how to set it up, so i'll give them a lil slack, but it REALLY is pissing people off and they better fix it quick.
haven't ran into the black whole thing yet, thank god.
We'll see how they do in the coming week.
Those who want to live, let them fight, and those who do not want to fight in this world of eternal struggle do not deserve to live.
Every four issues are major ones as you have pointed them out, odysseas70.
Lets see how fast Aventurine can react to them, because I´m most certain that they are aware of and working on fixing them.
Ya, I thought darkfall Might have been worthit possibly at the begining, now im thinking otherwise, that it is a major failure. Seriously if your going to let preoder people into a game, make sure that everyone can instantly order it, and get a code submit it and get right in no waiting, no anything.
So yeah, This leads me back to the point im just going to wait for AION, and see if it is marketed any good, It wont really suprize me if Darkfall ends up like Fury Online, which closed down, with a lame excuse of, sorry everyone, but we could not find a way to keep open. Not to mention their software terable lag even on good pc's.
Not quite sure what lag you are talking about, and you clearly aren't even playing the game so how can you comment about the "software lag" i get 40+ fps with everything set to maximum settings.
Have fun playing Aion : The tower of eternity (it's called eternity for a reason since you'll spend it grinding)
There should definitely be a character wipe when the game "Launches". Getting a pre-order was pure luck.
