what it does after the patch it like reinstalls the game,or atleast thats how it appeared to me. that could be why
played M59,UO,lineage,EQ,Daoc,Entropia,SWG,Horizons,Lineage2.EQ2,Vangaurd,Irth online, DarkFall,Star Trek and many others that did not make the cut or i just plain forgetting about.

Do this and problem solved.
For XP:
Go into Search in the Start menu. Make sure hidden files and such are searched for, and search for Darkfall_1033.exe. It should come up in your Windows directory or abouts. Double click it, and install it into your regular darkfall folder. This should correctly finish installing the program. Remember, keep all programs closed except the ones I've named.
For Vista:
Go into your Explorer. Go into your User directory. Go into Documents and there should be a hidden folder named APPDATA. Then go into folder ROAMING. There should be a DARKFALL folder inside that. There should be an UPDATES folder inside that. There should be another DARKFALL folder inside this. Inside the DARKFALL folder is a file named Darkfall_1033.exe and that is the file you open. Install it into your normal Darkfall directory and it should finish downloading.
Games played:AC1-Darktide'99-2000-AC2-Darktide/dawnsong2003-2005,Lineage2-2005-2006 and now Darkfall-2009..... In between WoW few months AoC few months and some f2p also all very short few weeks.

when you install the download with the darkfall.exe it copies your dfdata files (8.5 gig's worth) and puts them into a data folder. it leaves the originals in the darkfall folder. you don't need those, delete them. after installation my folder was 17 gigs now it is 8.7 by removing the original copies.
but basically you need double the drive space it says because of this. I've made a backup of the whole folder myself since I have plenty of room on my own drive.

This is a launcher/lobby update. What it does is uninstall a few things (such as the lobby) and then adds new ones. These kind of updates don't change anything to the game data afaik (never seemed to do so in beta). It probably means they updated the game server(s).
Before installing these kinds of updates make sure everything Darkfall related is closed (such as the agreement page) before you continue.
I personally didn't have problems updating (never had so far), but I also did not pre-order (AoC learned me the hard way to wait a bit before jumping in right away), although this shouldn't be related...

i have the same error... i looks for me atm that it affects users that have less than 9gb free disk space on C: where windows is installed. it looks like even it wants to install it to the partition where df lies it still "focuses" on C: somehow.

8gb windows partition , are you crazy mon :P .. reinstall , repartion , as the error says you probably need 9 gb on your system partion for temporary extraction, your better off getting a bigger system disk now if your gonna play any other game or install more big software.
( I am not fanboying this ,i am not even gonna play this game for months yet , but a 8gb windows partion is just insanse tbh, with windows updates and restore points it wont hold for very long and performance will be crap after a while )
Sorry for the harsh comment mate , but its really the truth unfortunatly , but there might be ways for the installer to install temporary files on other locations , if it uses the %TEMP% variable you can try to go into dos prompt and do a "set TEMP=e: emp" and try that. where e: emp is a temporary folder you create , and then run the patcher from that dos prompt.
I've solved the problem removing from the registry the darkfall data (Aventurine keys and Caphyon keys), then re-execute darkfall_1035.exe and it work finally.

Well, a lot of people reserve a small partition for windows only, and swap file in another partition. Prolly is a problem of the partition where windows is installed, but it suck aniway.

You need atleast that amount, because it UPDATES the data befor it deletes the old data.. Make room.

I have 15GB of free space in the drive DF is installed on.
I have the free room. That is why I posted. Settle down grasshopper.
