Name Already Exists Error
So my first character was stuck forever at the logging in screen so I deleted the character and re-created her; however I received a "Name already exisits error". I assume that although I deleted the character, the name of the charcter was still in the database. Hopefully this error will go away in time and I can re-use the name. Has anyone else had this issue?

this is the least important issue in darkfall and i for one hope it never gets solved so long as there is a nother problem with the game account or billing
I'm not sure if it's an error as my thoughts is, they may have planned it since you can only have one character, you can never create a name that used to be in the server showing that "person" is now dead.

Probably because even though you delete the character from your account it's still kicking about somewhere so they can offer restores or something.

Once a name has been used and deleted it should never be allowed to be used again on that server ever. Reputations should die with charachters on SCS servers.

This happened in SWG also. I deleted a character because I decided I wanted to make him a different race and when I made him new, it said name was taken. I think it lasted for a few days. I guess it just depends on how long the game goes before it cleans up its' database and frees up unused names. Hopefully for you this game actually does that and doesn't flag the name as taken forever.
I'd agree if it weren't for the fact that it's a horrible bug that's causing people to lose names they might want to spend the next 4-5 years using. Just ease up on it until these errors are sorted and then lock the names up.

I wouldn't count that as an unintentional error. I've known a few MMORPGs to have the same rule when deleting/recreating your character. You made a mistake when you thought it would work the same as WoW.. Try again in a week but don't hold your breath.
I play the character thus it's MY reputation not the pixel's reputation.. Unless you are a hardcore roleplayer i see no problems in use the same name on diff chars.
