What is going on now is nothing more than a pay to play Beta. A fixed amount of preorders have been selected and are allowed to play. No one else can create an account or obtain the client.
Sounds like the game is fun, but when do they plan to truly release it to all?

I said this weeks ago.
I was in beta, the game wasn’t ready to be released, hell the game wasn’t ready to be beta-ed, that was more like an alpha test.
They created a pretty nice game world and a fairly stable client, but the game is no where close to what was promised on their website for the last 4+ years and there was NO WAY I was going to be paying them to help develop the game.
With Mortal Online being 18 days away from a beta test… Darkfall is going to have to wait… oh how the tables have turned… after me waiting 6 years for Darkfall, Darkfall is going to have to wait for me…..

It would indeed be fantastic if Mortal online launched their beta but i seriously don't think it's going to happen, if anything they are just going to give a state of the game announcment and say beta is TBD.
We are paying to beta test but the game IS released. Everything that is happening in the game is permanent (unless they decide to wipe, which would happen realsoon, because of the exploiting of all the broken mobs that took place).
If you want bug free play, I am not sure what to tell you or if that will ever be reached, but the game is released now.
Client is on Fileplanet for anybody willing to reg a free acount there.

Thats fine.. maybe they will do beta in 18 days like they say or maybe they will pull a Aventurine and delay it for another 7 years.
Either way it will be AT LEAST another 18 days before I spend any money to play Darkfall and even then I will probably wait for some major patching…… maybe ill buy it when they have North American servers (if they can hold on that long and IF they add some content)
I want to play Darkfall… but I want to play the Darkfall that was advertised on their website for all those years, not the alpha version of Darkfall I already tested

no game releases perfectly is very true, but the difference is how the company handles themselves.

I do agree that thinking that Mortal Online will be released this year is very optimistic though.
Precisely why good games will never exist, the masses of sheep are too stupid to understand that doing so IS NECESSARY unless they're given hundreds of millions of dollars without interest, which won't happen.
Mortal Online is using Unreal 3... and various professional tools..
The company is publically traded..
I'll almost gurantee you the game will be a decent quality production.
I find it funny how you complain about it shouldve been tested far longer and it took to long to release in the same thread.
I've seen it dozen times already, just tought I's mention it once.
