(for the record, i personally don't think Darkfall is a scam. A ripoff? Depends if they get their servers up before I can tell if it was worth the money... but I don't beleive it is a scam).

"continue to promote it" I've never seen one advertisement for Darkfall, ever. Sounds like someone is news grubbing.
Oh I decided to give it another look over and found this gem,
"Being that they are promising potential buyers the greatest game of all time, they will be sure to get a few thousand people in the world to preorder a game for approx. $50."
The pre order was only 3 dollars, and you can cancel it at any time, as for being promised "the greatest game of all time" I think that "reporter" is on something.

To Brannoc's credit (he is the community manager for Darkfall) - given some of the quotes I have read, I don't think he would call this a success. I read something about him being very disappointed in the launch.
Nah - Aventurine is a lot of things right now, but "Iraqi information minister" is not one of them.
Meaning: SignusM is not being paid to be a fanboy.

Now to be honest ive waited what 2 days for a fuckup on their side because of a preorder that dident go through fair enough no problem we are human we make mistakes shit happens
Its not like its the end of the world when shit like this happens they are trying their best to correct the problems they are having im pretty damn sure of it otherwise i would not have my preorder now 2 days later

People probably should understand that there is really no way DFO is a scam. Even if the game quit now, THEY LOST ALL THE MONEY.

And D&L wasn't a scam either. D&L died because of a internal contract dispute wth the developer.

FYI i belive in the TOS states that they can intruped the game and bring it down at any given time as they see fit see its here in the eula/tos

Sure its having some issues, but there are very few MMOs released that dont. Even your precious WoW was plagued with release problems
As for info about the game? Yeah the Web site is way out of date. Many things listed have been removed or changed.
The info needs to be updated ASAP, but right now they are trying to fix connection and sync issues and get the game stable and running.
They are Game Developers not Web Site editors or PR/CSR people.
That whole "report" smells of some mouthbreathing basement dweller that is pissed that he didnt get a pre-order.

For anyone who got in (several thousand) the game was running more or less fine until the latter part of the day, which is when I couldn't play anymore due to the dead zones. These were fixed when I logged in this morning, synch issues still persist.
I was never a fan of the billing, but I feel the actual game itself is being handled fine. I'm just shocked that some people are making up their own ideas of what Aventurine has said "Greatest game of all time" is honestly, laugh out loud pathetic. Every public statement I've heard from Aventurine is stuff like "this game isn't for everyone" "we don't want to appeal to WoW users" and stuff like that.

If Aventurine came out and said, "Wow, that launch really sucked. Saying sorry seems kind of insufficient. Hope you still give it a go now that we got it right." ... that would be class.
Trying to pick and choose a couple of good points in a week of fail just means that mediocrity is their measurement of success.
