Time to level the playing field...
Alright since the server has been down more than up and the syncing issues fubared EVERYTHING, lets discuss the current hot topic - exploiting.
Now see there is no exploiting in Darkfall, people are merely playing the game which is given to them. If you find something you can kill, you better do it.
I have spent a large amount of time exploring and have seen many of those big guilds in action, so it's time to spill the beans to level the playing field for all.
The synching issues have rendered most mobs impossible, many were able to find the endless amount of loitering goblins outside the ork starter towns and farmed them for hours. Many who played beta understood why these mobs were bugged.
It's the water, any mobs which spawn in knee deep water are typically bugged. Find a swamp area and go to town on bugged mobs. Find dungeons, most of the mobs are not completely desynched and there are tons of pathing exploiting to kill black knights. I have even had luck training desynched mobs into shallow water where they get stuck and cannot move.
Heres another good one where I saw many of the "big guilds" exploiting, don't worry I will not call out names but yes I am the one that looted your corpses which got killed by black knights on the way out. Thanks for couple thousand gold and multiple sets of banded armor!
There is a dungeon here 6'40 E and 18'14, it is outside the orc area yet because it is a special dungeon I have seen people come from all over the land to come to this place.
Now there are multiple broken spawns which do fight back but are stuck like glue in water, high levels. You can just take them down with ranged while you use rocks as cover.
Deeper into the dungeon there is a acid pit, the mobs are so fucking stupid that they back and forth through the acid killing themselves. It's hilarious and yields tons of gold and equipment.
You can kite black knights at the end of the dungeon and get them stuck on walls, yaay free plate!
So that is the big one, the cat is out of the bag so go nuts!
If you know of any others post them up, it's bullshit what these "hardcore guilds" have been saying - this is what EVERYONE IS DOING.
So it's time to level the playing field, the game should not be about knowledge of exploiting to succeed.

I think if they were guna wipe it they would have said so in that last message, however they said they fixed the broken human characters that couldnt log in which kind of implies the oposite, if they dont wipe now they never will, so i dont think its guna happen... its okay, in the long run, its not going to matter
also... maybe u should bug report all those things... if we ever get in game
Some exploits I have heard of are so insanely complex that you have to give the person credit who worked it out, should they be punished for a game error?, I think not but thats my personal prefference and I dont expliot anything.
Holy cow. Isn't this game supposed to have good AI? I think they need to fix more than the sync issues...lol.
QFE lol....im glad when players post exploits. i remember a time in a game when you got banned for posting known exploits. so players who didn't know what was going on were at an insane disadvantage over the players that were exploiting. not only didthe exploiters have an unfair advantage...but this advantage was being protected by game employees (they said it was because they didn't wan to increase the number of players using the exploit) ya...great for those who were left in the dark lol.

once the exploits are fixed, the gold that was acquired (after a few weeks) wont matter.
It will simply jump start the economy... right now there is nothing to buy with whatever gold you acquire anyway, so the stuck monster bug and acid bug might be good for the game anyway, now ppl have shit they can sell in the game and we can start to set up a trading center around the world.
This was the point of my post, every single guild which was able to acquire a city stone did so through exploitation of bugged mobs. This is not a assumption yet a fact, if they say otherwise they are simply lying.
There were many posts before beta ended detailing examples such as the one I gave above, many kept this information to themselves - hell I have.
The game should not be about knowing how or what to exploit to gain advantage over other players which every large guild is doing.
I encourage others to post about these secret spots so that the masses may go kill the afk botters. Hell I was able to come up on a few thousand gold and multiple sets or armor / weapons by doing just this.
Gotta love a game where the community is "cheating" within the very first few minutes in game. Yes, exploiting equals cheating.
That's the problem now-a-days. Some of you people think a lie is the truth unless you get caught.
This kind of behavior is ridiculous. The game just launched. How about playing it a while and having fun BEFORE you start cheating and getting an edge. Or.. Why the heck are you playing games anyway if you feel the need to EXPLOIT right out of the box.
It's unbelievable. I've listened to countless months of people chanting about finally having a sandbox to play in. What sandbox? You're not playing a game at all. You're looking to cheat right off the bat. Is that the sandbox style game you were looking forward to?

Mobs + Water = Gold
All mobs Are Hydrophobic: You can train them or knock them into the water and get them stuck.

They should punish the exploiters, not everyone.
Although my char is undeveloped, why should they destroy it because others exploit? Deal with the issue and the ones exploiting it.
We did report those bugs. They were never fixed. They're just pathing exploits. All mmo's have them at launch. Why don't you guys who see this happening report them to a GM?
You can also kill them and take their stuff. PvP sorts out lots of things!
Thanks for posting these here. The more people who know about it the better chance it gets fixed. Plus these areas will be flooded with so much PvP that it will be hard for anyone to bug the mobs.

Every guild??! My guild got a city going without any mob exploits. In fact, the mobs we hunted were much more difficult than usual because they were also invisible and we still managed to get the 12k gold needed for both our clan and our city.
Not every player is a complete retard and because you can't fathom that anyone is able to do it the right way doesn't mean it can't be done.
I don't think they have the man-power, nor know-how to ban the culprits. Its also my understanding that it was done on a massive scale. The best way to "level the playing field" is to fix the exploited AI and do a wipe. Just my opinion...

I believe you, not that it matters.
But the more important question is...
What the heck kind of long-term game play is this if you can get a clan city in the first 30 minutes of play? Makes no sense and will ultimately ruin that part of gameplay. Cities will have NO meaning if they're that easy to acquire.
My goodness. The server has only really been stable for a short period of time. And in that time players have built cities, exploited mobs, macroed.... MY GOODNESS!!!
If this is the vision of the future of Darkfall, we are in trouble here. I've never seen a game where the cheating and exploiting began this quickly. It doesn't bode well for the future unless they can put a stop to it.

ya that's the think i hate most of all....once you get a base of exploits the whole game is lost....the real game becomes "knowing the exploits to compete" and the actual game is left by the wayside. players just don't have patients with this anymore and as a company you MUST have a plan that works to battle this.

An exploit is an exploit. I don't care if they had to spin in circle twenty times, slip on a banana peel, pull three nose hairs, and bark like a dog to figure it out. The point is, you find an exploit you report it not take advantage of it. That is when you should be punished.

Well if he is legit there are hundreds of other mob spawns he could move too and not the one specific spawn which drops heaps of gold and is possible to kill through exploiting. Everyone has low ranked skills and equipment, it is damn impossible to kill the high shit without exploiting in some way. Especially when they are desynched and invisible.

I know they better have a server restart in 3 weeks . Give this beta tester time to get in and have fair game.
They need to close this game and start at a latter date because it is not ready for lots of people that is for sure or we all will be playing now.
SERVER RESTART IN 3 WEEKS ! THIS GIVES EVERYONE TIME TO PLAY THE GAME AND FIND OUT WHAT THEY WANT TO DO. AND IT ALSO GIVES ALL THE PEOPLE TRYING TO GET THE GAME AND PLAY A FAIR GAME TO EVERYONE!

I'll be really pissed if they try to ignore or downplay the problem instead of making it their priority to fix it.
