DFOTray v1.2 - updated to work with live server status page!
A new version is up which works correctly with the new status page.

I wrote a small utility to keep track of server status called DFOTray.
DFOTray adds a tray icon which shows the current server state. The icon shows the same info which can be found on the patcher web page. It also plays up/down notification sounds. Right-click on the icon to see more options.

Use the above link to download and install.
NOTE: full source code is included with the download in case anyone is worried. it does nothing more than download the status web page, check for ONLINE/OFFLINE text, and update the tray icon and play sounds. That's it, there's no spyware/malware/virus/trojan/etc. You can check the source if you're concerned. Or if you're worried, don't use it and just leave the patcher open or leave your browser open to the status page (see the below link).

Neat tool, I have a question though. Do you have the source code for it? No offence but an EXE that monitors the games status could be a haven to grab some nice little login packets.

yup and it would not be posted all over Dark fall Beta Fourm if it was not secure and most Darkfall beta testers all used it very handy at times win passed out on the couch waiting for the server to start back up

lol running a custom program through a virus scanner is not going to do anything, sigh....In any case the source is clean and compiling the source makes the same program. It's good and amazingly cool.
correct, using a virus scanner for this would only detect known viruses. anyhow, that's why including the source is necessary.

I never changed the server online sound for this, and now it is one of the greatest sounds ever!

If i were to replace the DFO-up, sound (Whatever the file name is) with an mp3, and renamed it to the file name as before, would it play that mp3?
Yes it would. I changed the sounds to a voice that says "server up" or "server down" personally.
