RELEASED is when everyone and anyone can get it if they want and when they want.
Then Darkfall won't be released for awhile. You knew that, of course, since the devs themselves said they were anticipating selling out of the preorders and initial sales (which they did, in a way), and would make more available as soonn as they could. Now stop crying, because you had to know this was coming. Either that, or you didn't do your research.
just for the record the crying comment wasn't to me but the people that actually don't understand.

And just for the record, the game is released. I was using your definition of "released" in my last comment. If a company makes a product, let's say the "Tickle Me Elmo." Let's assume that this is a hot product and it sells out immediately. Only a few thousand people in the world have Tickle Me Elmos. The fact that some people who may want this toy and can't get it does not deny the Tickle Me Elmo's existance. Some people who are lucky got it on the first wave of sales. Others weren't so lucky. Elmo is still released.

No that's what we call the beta phase. You were selected randomly to have the opportunity, to which you could have accepted or rejected, to test the game for bugs, imbalances, glitches and give overall feedback before the game was released.

How in the hell was the official day 25th when servers went up the morning of the 26th? you must have a retarded calendar that you yourself
The official release date was the 25th, as stated by Adventurine. I cannot help if they bjorked that. I won't stoop to your "retarded" comment, I'm not that immature.

Since you are all knowing, what does a limited preorder mean?
Although your posts question is based on a false pretense that I am in some way omniscient, I will answer. A limited preorder, well, is a preorder that has a limited amount of the product available.
Preorder = Ordering (paying) before a given product's intended commerical release.
Limited = not infinite (AKA not everyone gets one).
RELEASED is when everyone and anyone can get it if they want and when they want.

Okay now what is the definition of a game launch/release?
I see valid statements from both sides.. I really want to like this game and i threw my 50+ at them a couple days ago.. I do have faith that -In Time- this will be a really good game.. however at the moment the only point that says this game is released is that AV used the words released.. compare this to any other release and it dosent match up..
I can call a swan a duck all day.. dosent make it a duck..

Game release/launch - When the final product of a game is opened up for those who have payed to play.

i wonder what game i should occupy myself with 'til Darkfall is buyable. Man, i really wanted to play this this weekend. There's no other MMO i'm interested in thats out or coming out very shortly. At least that i know of or paid attention to.
but it's fun to follow the discussions surrounding Darkfall for now. I have nothing else to do today anyways.
well, if only Empire: Total War was out now, at least I'd have some game to waste my time with.

Every game releases with limited slots. Larger companies have more slots than smaller companies. People don't seem to understand that you can't compare a company like Aventurine to Blizzard in terms of size and capacity.

EVE Online was a small company but they released it just like all other did, without any limitations.

Oh well then you win, I'm sorry. I had no idea that the games released with limited slots when everyone could go to the store and buy it and get in the game right away after making an account. Server slots on the other hand were limited but unless they somehow magically ran out of game copies I don't remember a limit to launch.

Different game, different playerbase, different engine, different company. How many on staff did they have at release? More than 31, I'm guessing.
Darkfall Online is still not released yet. Since it's currently in a paid closed beta, it's shouldn't be far away. When do you think will AV release this game?
Which release? The first one that crashed? The second one where you had to channel Dionne Warwick to find the mobs? Or the one we're still waiting for?
I'm far from a "fan-boi". The game has released with limited slots. Adventurine didn't have a publisher so you have to buy the game from them on their site. Unfortunately for some, those limited slots are now taken. You have to wait to get in the next wave of slots. And, is their such a thing as a "paid-closed-beta". Sounds like a stretch to me.

He said Official release date this implying that they said they would be up at that date
It has nothing to do with when they came up or how they came up it just states that Officaly they wanted them to come up the 25th
So then technically it didn't officially release yet because they passed the date and haven't said a new one.
