I played the game, it owns
Even though I only got to play for about 2 hours yesterday before everyone synced out, an about 20 minutes today before they closed the server back down, I still must say this game is VERY fun. I was having a blast at the chaos at the goblin spawn, 10 people surrounding a goblin and the saps that hit another blue go grey, and then I'd attack them...
I was really one of the only newbs at the goblin spawn with the balls to start a fight with somebody. I play as a mahirim and so far 1v1 as long as I have full stam, I haven't had somebody that could stick it to me. You really see the pack mentality when your fucking somebody up in a fight and once they get close to death 5 other people pounce on them and don't even try and scuffle with the alpha. The PK on this game is amazing, I jacked a couple sets of newbie quest gear and about 40 gold off random greys.
You can REALLY tell who the WoW players are when somebody is grey, you walk up and start kicking there ass, and then they try and run back to town while they are still grey. On several occaisons one of my victims would actually try and run back into town, and while I'm putting arrows in his back he gets nuked by the guard tower. Free loot for me, and nobody else around to try and take it since they are all either in town or at the goblin spawn.
Just because they are having issues with the dead reckoning (syncing), don't judge the actual game until you have played it.

I agree, the game IS awesome and rocks. Too bad the trolls will be hitjacking this thread with their hate messages again. It's still LAUNCH week guys.
Yeah but unless they have actually played the game their opinions are worthless. Even though AV could communicate better, the game is still a work of art. Hopefully the severs are back up tonight

No one is more disapointed than those of us who were in beta and know how great this game is.
Any other game i would be saying lol this is a joke, which it is to some extent as they should have been ready for this, but since i know the game is the best on the market right now for this kind of gameplay i am unfortunatly willing to wait.
They know they messed up, they are offering more free days, so we arent really losing any value on our money just have to wait which sucks. As long as they have the sync issue fixed and things run smooth like beta at some point this weekend, no harm done except for probably turing away a lot of customers who had never played DF.
Oh well, keep one full server and i am happy. Dont care what anyone else says about it, its a ridiculously fun experience and thats all that matters.

I have no doubt that the game is great, thats why i want to buy it, BUT I CANT
I dont care if the servers are down i just want to reserve my copy, im afraid to leave my damn computer cuz i know they will sell out quickly after going up.
it is so frustrating, i want to go outside!

I'm thinking of picking this game up sunday, hopefully the servers will be more stable though.
Lag and server issues can be resolved. Gameplay cannot be fixed as easily. The core gameplay of DF is all there. This will certainly be a release to remember, one way or another.

No...I was just like the OP AT FIRST. My 1st day, I was in for HOURS, grinding Goblins, PVPing, having a blast.
Then, after a couple days, I was like...meh. Kinda went from hunting Goblins and Trolls, to running around TRYING to find mobs to kill, while avoiding people trying to PK me. I tried like hell to get some steedgrass too, but it was hopeless, lol. The world isn't as empty as people think, though it is kinda empty. You mainly just have to find the stuff.
I think that DF will come down to Guilds attacking each other over and over basically. There really isn't that much to do in game besides that tbh.
Another thing that worries me, is how long will it be until Devs can add more content? I know it's sandbox and all, but won't PVPing each other everyday get kinda boring after 2 months?
i played the game for about 10hours or so and i agree. goblin newbie zone is a blast
i only made like 200 gold whereas all the beta players have made many thousands. its still fun
so many whiners on the board. i gave them my money and i have no problems with these delays. it happens
OP is right. Game is GREAT for about 1 DAY
Then the bugs come shining through. Lack of content comes shining through. And a host of other issues become apparent because a small dev team thought they could figure it out all by themselves.
Bottom line: They should have kept beta going and worked out the issues. You only get one chance in this genre. AV wasted theirs.
So, a "very fun" game to you is pack attacking starter characters at a mob spawn area while the server is having sync issues, chasing them back to town while shooting unrealistic arrows into the unrealistic hitboxes of the fleeing noob, then looting junk gear?

if you guys would have read the patch notes u would know that they have not added everything to the game yet. so we are actually stress testing the game now! once the game settles down and everybody gets to play monsters like trolls or goblins build there own camp if they dont get killed which can get to a major camp were u need a group to survive...Wildlife more npc's everythign is ready to go life they just did not add it yet give them some time! I know u have been waiting for this to long now why can't u wait another week?
This is the perfect example of a trollpost and the reason why nobody likes you guys. Let other people enjoy their games, even if you can't and stop beeing frustrated jerks.

Obviously the sync issues that you have described are not what this game is like 99% of the time. It sucks and they messed up royaly with this launch, but the game itself is fun without the sync issue...its actually the best fantasy pvp game on the market with the sync issues gone.

Wow - you are actually giving yourself airs because you pk'd some people in Darkfall in the first couple of hours?
I mean, pking is great fun and all - don't get me wrong - but to pump yourself up as some kind of macho dude; dismissing others as "wow players"? You gotta be kidding me.
I wonder how typical you are of the playerbase in this game?
I have actually had a piss poor gaming experience in the last 4 years, since the beginning of WoW. Sad but true...

Yes there were bugs, but they iron'd out all the exploits, They will add content all the time. Things they had to cut for launch, 4 legged running Furrys anyone? Weather? They'll get it done. Oh and you couldnt get steedgrass? I was in beta and Launch. Found one each time, within 30 minutes in the game doing the newbie herb gathering quest.
Could have always bought it. Goes for 250-500 Gold.

If all you're oding is PvP, why the hell are you paying $15 a month? You can play battlefield or NWN for free. If there is no other content type its going to get boring as hell.

I logged in at the goblins started killing em and got rouge, it was you who followed me for ages and robbed all my gear,oh well for the few mins i played today least i helpped someone out.:)
