Good to hear there wasn't any serious exploiting going on. It's a bit scary they won't crack down on macroing though.
I hope they don't, can't tell you how many resources I got from killing AFK macroers in Beta. After the new rogue system was implemented with the 10 second timer, AFK macroers quickly disappeared from the city areas altogether, and the few who didn't were immediately put down. There may be attended macroing, sure, but if the person's sitting in front of the computer watching the screen anyways, what's the big deal?
People who macro while they sleep have to find a remote place in the wilderness for the most protection, ironically.
That was all they ever had to do, give players the ability to police macroing themselves. That's the way it should be.
Of course, the thought of having the forums on a different server than the game never occurs. Gee wonder how all the Darkfall fans aren't crashing the mmorpg.com servers? After all, it takes so many resources to keep a forum up.
I thought they desided to do this after that attack they had. oh well. They should just move it to curse servers and be done with it.
Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries...
It is kind of sad and pathetic to see developers just hide and say well we are upset to because we are gamers we empathise yet they are the ones responsible for the fuck ups. Good for a chortle.

Do you really think Brannoc is going to admit there are people exploiting? Little fanboi likes his job too much to do that.
Hmm. I guess it is all about what is considered exploiting.
Harvesting MOBS that didn't have AI yet spawned with lots of gold an items wasn't Exploiting it was taking advantage of a server problem for the advancement of your character/clan.
Either way it has certainly helped Clans get cities before others that didn't harvest the no AI MOBs and it also provided a large amount of high skill weapons and armor.
I laughed irl when he said about no people exploiting, when people were hunting non responsive top end monsters for hours n hours lol. Think he needs to open his eyes.

Well seeing that 5 of us earned a little over 10,000gp for our guild the first day killing high level mobs that didn't fight back, I'd say that there has been a little exploiting going on...
<@Brannoc> I'm around again now and checking for updates again.
<@Brannoc> (Assuming we can avoid any fake updates!)
<@Brannoc> I'm passing on the various messages of folks who are saying the had their card declined a second time.
<@Brannoc> As usual, forums won't be up until the game is, channel won't open till the forums are, etc
<@Brannoc> Normal orders won't be open until the current issues are fixed.
<@Brannoc> And the big question on everyone's mind: "omg where are the servers" - All I can say is they're getting there.
<@Brannoc> All of Aventurine appears to be awake and working on the issue, if I get an ETA or more information I'll give it to you.
<@Brannoc> Also, it appears many of you missed the recent update on the forums regarding the "account not active" issues, be sure to check at http://forums.darkfallonline.com
How old is this Brannoc he seems very very cocky and arrogant... and he really likes speaking down to the people asking questions.
What else do you expect, after all, he's speaking for the best MMO developer company Aventurine which made Darkfall, the salvation and the cure for cancer in one MMORPG package!
This was hilarious... why the heck are the devs sending out someone whos practically a paid fan to answer the questions of the upset customers when he doesnt know anything?
These devs dont have the balls to take the shit themselves it seems.
<@Brannoc> not my place to state the official stance on macro'ing
<@Brannoc> but that's common sense, not an official stance
<@Brannoc> I'd say a common sense answer would be that...if you're not macro'ing to exploit the system or for commercial gain...you'll be left alone
I don't get it? Can someone give me an example of macro that does/does not exploit the system? Thanks.
Attended Macro, macroing repetitive tasks but monitoring results. Alternately macro keyboards used for key combinations to cut down on repetitive tasks. That is just two examples I know of from other games that are tolerated.NP

I would prefer the devs work till they pass out to get it working then answer to a bunch of whiners like us. Like noone ever saw problems from games launched by big companies like sony or something with hundreds of people working on it.... LOL

Yes problems at launch is pretty much expected, and of course its better if they work on getting the game up and running.
The thing is I just dont know of many game developers who shut down all meanings of communication when they "launch" the game...

He is the Eldest. He joined the forums a couple years before Tasos did. His join date is 2001.
He is 8 years old as far as we know, but maybe older.
With AV, getting ANY news is a good thing

They need to wipe the servers and start again...
Why get this guy to do the interview when he just sits there most of the time saying i realy dont know?
surely they would put a guy with the answers in the chair to make the interview worth while
He responded again around 10:20PM GMT:

Preorder Diablo III | Preorder Guild Wars II
these guys are more like the SWG emu crew
arrogant
they swear (when you wouldnt expect a respectable company to have employees swearing on IRC channels)
they are not good at handling proffesional issues at all
to be honest its as if they dont give a damn what anyone thinks
sad realy
This was hilarious... why the heck are the devs sending out someone whos practically a paid fan to answer the questions of the upset customers when he doesnt know anything?

What purpose does he serve? It dosnt look like he actually is useful at all.
like i said
its as if they are another SWG EMU crew
too full of themselves to care
i know its a hardcore sandbox MMO - which is what i want
but its as if the developers are a bunch of hoodies on the street or sommat
How much is GNi to blame? They're hosting the game for DF:
