Open Beta is not a Release give them some time.
I get it the game isn’t up and there are issues. Welcome to Beta whether it is open or closed this stuff happens. That is why it is called Beta and NOT a release notice that those are TWO totally different words. Give them time to get things in line and coordinated. I have been in the industry for close to decade now and this happens a lot.
They are indy yes but give them time to learn from their mistakes it isn’t like there is a book out called “So you’re a Indy game company here is exactly how you make a MMO error/bug free.” They just need breathing room to learn from their errors. I am in the same boat as the rest of you, my account is showing not active and/or awaiting charges or whatever reason you can’t get in game. It is frustrating but like so many games that have had horrible launches/open betas quite a few are still around and are nothing like they were at beta and working fine. The potential for this game opens up so much that it worth these horrible birth pains.
To be able to fight in whatever style you choose and to develop a template that could knock the crap out of your competition, also a game with little to no rules and so much open PVP can I get an AMEN. I have been stuck just watching videos others have posted and by the way can you folks in game make more tutorials those have been so helpful like no tomorrow maybe show a skill listing how it works and so forth. If a tutorial video exists post it here please, thanks in advance.

No people have pre-paid to have the game AFTER open-beta in a month or so. You really need to reread the site again.
treat it like a payed beta, b/c the game is seriously in a beta state. The people who will buy it in march/feb are beta testing the game for us, buy afterwards

WWHHAAT?! Game is definitely released, people have made accounts, logged in, and played. Then the servers broke. Typical of any MMORPG release. But yeah definitely released. Its even been moved into the released section on this website.

umm normally beta's are free to test as its used as a medium in which the company can do a slight stresstest and do a more heavy quest test/fix and gear/racial balance.
were as most alphas are company and friends of company members its normally at best 20 people.
given most mmos todate 20 people can only cover 10-30% of the total content in any game.
so they open it to a closed/open beta. where joe blow and so and so can sign up and help test the game while increasing word of mouth and attention to the game.
it helps stress test the account server and game it self as more people signup/play then the small number from alpha.
now paying for anything preorder or not. classes the game as a finished product in the lines of reciving stuff for your money.
its no longer a beta as you are playing money for the content your playing with. now as anyone knows no mmo is ever finished its stupid to release a game as 100% finished as that means there is no patches or content. ever after you have the game.
but you do expect a some what polished bug free item for your money.
so far i have no heard or seen DFO provide a high enough quality product for any money.
smells to me like a beta scam.... you pay money to test their game.... just sounds retarded... that would be if blizzard brought out D3 and made you pay 60 bucks to alpha test it.... kind of stupid and retarded to do...
DFO as its pay to use = final product.
DFO current state = beta test...
paying for DFO in its current state = retarded...
but to each his own... from the sounds of it you need atleast 2 months of steady patches before DFO is stable and fixed up to be acceptiable.

no you dont get it. DFO is offical. The only problem is you cannot buy it because they only could afford 1 server and as it seems its capped.
prob when they finish processing the rest of the orders they might have some moolah to buy another server. then charge more people to play their game.
