new update

anyone see the new update? and i quote "It appears that Darkfall's trademark owner, Aventurine, has let its trademark laps. Accidental or intentional?
When you look up Darkfalls serial number (78284269) at http://www.uspto.gov/, the current status states:

"An office action suspending further action on the application has been mailed."

Where does this leave the long awaited game? Will Darkfall take on a new name or disappear like other games before it (Warhammer Online)?"

man this sucks if it turns out they did all that work for nothing. ::::16::

Don't worry about it Consume, there are no problems with using the Darkfall name.

i dunno preston, i saw an article about some kid buying a game at walmart already named Dark Fall. then i just read an article about if Darkfall doesn't get approved for being a trademark then it takes another full year to even get reveiwed on a new name...

you seem to be way confident in this game... makes me wonder if you have contact with the devs or somthing lol.. please post more on this im kinda getting worried

ConsumE not sure if you are aware but Mythic picked up the rights to Warhammer Online and it is expected to release sometime in 2007.

I hope this does not mean Darkfall is done.

I'd tell them to go fuck themselves. Aventurine in greece - US can stick it up it's ass

"Darkfall" is already trademarked. "Darkfall Online" is not trademarked. This is old news. No problems here.

They can't really get in trouble for US trademark laws in the first place considering that they are in Greece...

I don't really care ... but why rofl?

(and especially when there is so much other good juicy stuff about Av which hasn't been expired yet)

man this sucks if it turns out they did all that work for nothing. ::::16::

I would think the game is not being marketed in the US so it will only apply to it when they decide to do a US launch (b/c if you didn't know USpto.gov regulates companies dealing with the UNITED STATES). I don't if allowing the US to participate in a EU launch is the same as marketing a product to US citizens

    Thanks for the heads up!

I made a few phone calls and I own "Darkfall Online" now.

Plan on squatting it for a while.
