Nvidia 8800 are pretty solid and fairly affordable.  All depends on your budget.

I got the ATI Sapphire Radeon 4830 512 MB DDR3, OC'ed. I have no complaints, it's really one of the most cost effective cards on the market.

Have to agree with Paragus here.

You can pickup an 8800GT 512 card (PCIe) for around $180 and its a really nice card for the price.

    www.newegg.com is your friend.

Search by cost, slot and brand. If unsure you can post a card here and get an opinion.

You have an integrated card (part of the motherboard) and the 251 MB is probably shared by the system. I hate to say it, but I don't know if your rig will run DF at all.

I currently have a black edition GTX260 which is pretty fucking amazing imo.  This thing is a beast and I have never had any trouble with it yet.  All games I have played default to max settings, including the new DX10 games.  If your looking for a middle of the road I would take many others advice and rgab an 8800GT.  They are great cards.  I actually have one for sale I'd be willing to let go of cheap.  Is less than 6 months old, got my refund check and replaced with the GTX.

What I'm saying is you don't have a graphics card at all. What you have is an integrated chip on the motherboard that handles graphics and shares (steals) from your RAM.

You can put in a graphics card, but without your full system specs I couldn't tell you what to expect. If you could post the following:

    RAM

    CPU

    Power Supply

    Operating System

Dont forget to get above a 7000.  Make sure the model number is at least in the 7000's or better yet 8000's.  Anything lower and you still may not be able to run it.  Also, make sure it has at least 256 mb of dedicated GDDR3.  The company who makes it isn't really that big a deal.  BFG, XGX, MSI, etc vary somewhat in performance but they are all essentially NVidia processors.  If you decide to go ATI, which is normally cheaper but not as good,  make sure you meet the minimum requirements.  ATI isn't horrible, I just found, in my experience, that NVidia cards seem to be more stable and a fair bit faster with comparable spec cards, albeit NVidia are more expensive, but not by much.
