Common Sense again! This time its only semi-mandatory to read.

I'd skip it if you felt the urge to reply with 'TL:DR'.
So todays lesson is: The Internet.
Alot of people new to MMORPGs, somehow are seemingly new at the internet to.
Here are the common sense answers for popular questions:
1) "Geez Chubby, how come people litterally hate me because i've decided to buy this game?"
Well this is a pretty complexe question and has taking a vast amount of time invested into the working of this fine industry, for me to answer it with laymen's terms.
Trolls vs fanbois, so they say it boils down to. Its stereotyping, but its still a good way to sift people into categories.
-Fanbois are usually people who are buying the game or have bought the game and are subscribed monthly. They come to the forums to find quests, pick fights, brag about game stuff, and general game stuff.
-Trolls are people who must be heard. They warned game "A" about problem "3" in early stages of Alpha Echo Beta 2-F. These people are social black holes, usually suffering from mental illness and depression. All of which is common with anti-social behavior.
Anyway these people make it their goal (You we only see some say this blatantly, others you can only tell because why the fuck else would they waste time at a forum [[or in this case a sub-forumed forum of a forum]] for a game they arent playing) to make other players see 'their' truth.
Which is just their opinion on a video game. Its like me punching you in the face because you like mini-wheats and I prefer fruit loops. Or maybe its just better stated that these people litterally act like fruit loops.
Shamefully most of the trolls will and do play. The fits of frustrationg, angst, and the sting of lonely depression.. Its all done for attention.
They don't really care if people play or not.. They're just wasting time on the internet.
Much like me, with my attention whoring threads like this one!
2) 'Fuck me Chubby, why is Aventurine making this obnoxiously huge mistake?'
Well its so simple for us the consumer.. We refresh their page for 6 hours bouts at a time.. We download midget porn.. We check our fantasy baseball teams.. We buy oven mitts...
But we dont make the game. Its simply not a 'sneeze and out your ass comes gold' process here people. It involves tons and tons of coding and layers of code, numbers everywhere.. Einstein would of passed out at the sheer volume of mathematics involved in programming. Sure sure, nice little software programs some of it nice and user friendly.. But overall its a multi-million dollar investment of career, mind, body, and wallet.
If there is a mistake, guarenteed one of these guys already burned an ulcer into his stomach.
They will fix it or die trying. There can't always be an explanation. "Well the soda machine isn't working, so we wont be working until the guy gets here to fix it in 2 hours. So ummm id say 2 hours on that patch.".
Its their show and this upsets gamers who think they should be on hired staff because they downed a boss in some game 4 years back. So where it looks like a huge mistake, its really just another problem that needs fixing on a neverending list of other problems.
C) 'Wipe the server's ass, the forums should be up, and other misc. dumb stuff being said!?!'
The game needs to be playable. Luckily Aven knows that MMORPG.com would love the bumps of wide-eyed and excited MMORPG players.
You better believe they will get the game running enough to allow more people to buy the game. This will allow for extremely needed server upgrades.
4) "Chubs shoot me straight here guy.. Is this game dead?"
By all means all launches turn off people who didnt realize the patience and common sense requirements needed for ANY MMORPG LAUNCH EVER EVER, UNTIL PROBABLY FOREVER... Seriously even in like 2094 we will still have a .5 second delay on the 4 second launch of SUPER MEGA GAME ONLINE!
DarkFall actually has a suprising following of people. Look at the threads people.. No matter how much they complain, MOST end with 'I just want to play'.
Hehe.. The game isnt dead.. Its just being born. However, if Aven doesn't untangle the umbilical cord from it's next in the next month.. This game might not survive.
If you wish to play this game, the only thing and the best thing (for the game) is to just relax and be patient. It could be a few weeks before the average person can play this game.

I read your post and for the most part agree, but what about those of us who have paid for the game, the servers are supposedly up, we are on our fourth day of "included or free" time and have gotten only an hour of play? Patience is dandy and all, but when its on your dime, it because a bit harder to deal with, especially when some can play and others cannot, but we all payed...

I can wait patiently. But then I havnt bought the game yet. I will buy it when it is available. Glad I have all these other games to play. I like the author. I dont really care much for video game forum activity, especially what goes on here at mmorpg.com but this was to funny to pass up! Nice write up!

Yah but you expect them to call your house and tell your mother there is a 4 minute delay in telling you about a delay.
You just gotta wait dude.. If it is not playable for 4 days.. You will get 4 days, or maybe a week.. Depends on how bad they feel they fucked up.
You are buying files on your computer, btw, for the most part when you buy a video game.
So spare me the 'The law offices of Jew an Jew beg to differ about my purchase!' and rant about how you should bring down the whole house of cards.
Christ spare me just this once.
If you are getting mad at the game.. STOP PLAYING IT.
Thats all I can say.. Im not talking about DarkFall.. Im talking about COMMON SENSE.
Dont have to quit.. Just have to stop for a minute and get your shit together, ducks in a row, cookies in a jar.. Whatever the fuck.
The problems aren't on my dime because I have alot of street smarts about MMOs. This was an easy one to know to give a few days/week into launch.

I'll probably buy it as soon as I can, like a glutton for punishment. But I have a high patience threshold, so I can withstand.
Yah I dont much care about MMORPG.crap much.. Just another middle man with uninformed opinions about MMOs, of course thats just my uninformed opinion.
