So, I used to play the warhammer tabletop game, and I've always enjoyed the video games, and I like MMO's, no matter how much I suck at them...
So for the questions,
1) I live in Australia, so I'd be playing on the oceanic servers, Is the lag really bad? I read lots of complaining about the lag, Are these just game bashers doing there thing, or is it true, and how bad is it?
2) Are the RvR servers like unfair, Groups of gankers preying on soloers or smaller weaker groups?
3) Are the greenskins over abundant? I like greenskins, I'm pretty sure most of everyone does too..
4) I read somewhere that public quests will be soloable soon, That seems stupid to me, since one of the draws of the game for me was the whole public quests that everyone wants to group up to finish... Is this like true, or is there something I'm missing?
5) Is the community really bad, Including bother RvR and PvE servers?
6) Is the community leaving that fast, is the game really dying?
I think that's all
Thanks in advance

1. Dunno, don't play on oceanic myself.
2. Yes, me and my partner get ganking problems alot on open RvR and even in RvR areas on non open you still get ganked.
3. Yeah, alot of people like to choose greenskins perticually the goblins as the squig herder seems to be one of the best range for desctruction side.
4. News to me but that doesn't mean it isn't true. I agree that it would be stupid since its "public" this means that everyone can and will join in and we do help each other to complete it.
5. Yeah, the community is as bad as they say, pretty much a huge majorety are ex WoW players looking for something new to PK on really.
6. Game dying? heh, hardly. Seems quite popular to me.
By the way, I too played the table top game and this is nothing like it really, hell the maruder has a mutated arm which you never get for maruder in table top! They pretty much adjusted things to suit the gameplay for WAR really. All in all its kinda fun but wouldn't keep me entertained longer than a month. I bought the game after trial and already getting fed up with it now.

The community is as bad as they say? I heard it was pretty good...
1. I've spoke to a few players who told me they should actually play on the oceanic servers but found lag so bad they actually get better game play on the US servers.
2. I have a few friends who made the move from core to orvr servers and they love it, i think your only allowed to go down 1 tier (maybe 2) so the ganking isnt that bad and was told more or less everyone groups up so you'll shouldn't be alone at most times, unlest untill you get strong enough. But overall Dark Crag seems to be the most populated server now of all the US servers.
3. I actually don't like greenskins, I prefer dark elves for destro, I dont think there is an over abundant though i do expect an surge in numbers when choppa is live. DE does seem to be popular, was in a warband earlier and i think around 20 of the wb was DE, a train of cold ones was a nice sight :P (DE Mount) :P
4. There is pq's labeled easy and hard so it offers something for everyone but yeah grouping up for the hard ones is better, grouping also promotes community.
5. At the start of WAR back in sept, the community was really bad and it was that bad it made me think twice to actually stay, I won't lie of all the games i've played the community isn't very good at times but its becoming better because most of the a$$hats have left and the players staying actually want WAR to succeed but overall, Guilds in big/good alliances seems to be the way to go and alliance chat is often more active than region at times.
6. The sub numbers have went from 750k to 300k so a loss of 400k isn't good but...the next patch is bringing good changes, rvr dungeon in june, which many players wanted a darkness falls type dungeon, good changes in rvr like, more ramps in keeps and fortress, good gear dropping off guards etc..the way things are going city sieges will be more common, my own personal opinion the 300k sub number will increase, over the year, i don't think war will get wow numbers but by the end of the year there should be a stable player base of around 500k +.
I never played the table top game sorry but if you want to try WAR on a trial basis on the US servers, PM me, i may have a spare refer-a -friend key if not, maybe get one off a friend. Oh and fileplanet are offering free trials too, either way i would advise you to do a trial then rather going out and buying it before trying it.
Hope that helps.
Trials are useless on my internet connection, Not only will it take several hours to download, It will use up most of my download cap...
I hope the lag isn't that bad, One of the reasons I quit AoC because I was often getting over 1000ms latency (=Really bad lag), While WoW and other MMO's it's a "nice smooth" 300ms, I was hoping the australian servers would drop the latency alot. Can anyone give me a definate yay or nay on the oceanic servers performance?
1 advice, be prepare for the boring pve aspect of it, and during my trial in T1, i cant see other players and of course no scenerios poping up.
RIP Orc Choppa
1) Don't know as I play on the EU servers. Haven't had any problems with lag there.
2) Yes. Also high level players can come down to low level areas and dominate the low level PvP areas.
3) Greenskins seem to be rarer than the other Destruction races. At least from my experience, Dark Elves are most plentiful, followed by Chaos.
4) Some PQs, especially the low level ones, don't have that many people around to do them, so they're making them soloable.
5) There are no PvE servers. You probably mean Core servers. I've played on an RP server and the community was great, but population is a bit too low there now.
6) The game isn't dying, but a ton of people have left. More than half, and I don't think the subscriber count has settled quite yet (it could easily drop more). I think at most they have 250k currently.
I thought players turn into chickens when they entered an area too low level for them??? To stop gankers......
Just another question: Should I wait a few more months to see what sort of updates come out first or should I rush out and buy as soon as I can?
