I didnt get an error but it told me somthing to the effect of U have to be a gamespot suscriber to get it???
Do u guys know anywhere else to get the key without preordering??? I might just go and preortder...

its worked for every single other person thats used it. try again make sure you enter the correct email ignore the message and check your email.

actually its not lame because no matter what that message says everyone is getting their keys. instantly. and its 2 days... but hey i guess you just cant appreciate playing one of the best upcoming online games for free.

Thanks so much Ackbar for posting this info. I got a key Saturday (tho' it went into my Spam folder, and I had to dig out the message) and ended up playing most of the weekend.

Didn't get very high, but I tried out as many class and class combinations as I could in the time I had, and explored as much as possible.

Bottom line: this was one of the most enjoyable online games I've played in a while. Really an unexpected pleasure, and now I'm going to pre-order so I can join in the next event.

I know this will come up, so: I've played EQ, DAOC, SWG, FFXI, A Tale in the Desert, Horizons, COH, AC2, Ryzom... yadda yadda, so I'm not a MMORPG newbie.

And also for the record - I don't care if it's a MMORPG or CORPG or MMOG or COG or just DIAOG,K*... it was *FUN* and that's what I'll be paying for.

I want to play a game, not marry it. >_<

did you look at your spam folder? my key was snatched up by the hotmail spam folder, even tried my brothers e-mail and got a key there aswell, since he don't like mmo games or rpg games for that matter i have two weekends to look forward to.

this week will go to download the open beta of world of warcraft, registerd fast so i got one of the limited keys since they will keep the keys to a minimum, call it a closed beta, disguised as an open beta

worked just fine downloading wow, got it of fileplanet at 90kb¨s so it took 6-7 hours to download.

looking forward to start a new caracther this weekend, since i was an elementalist/warrior for the two first weekends im thinking about warrior/elementalist this time, just to look at the diffrent armour types for the warrior.

Im glad you guys appreciated this thread. The keys once used will not work for the next event. However if you saved a few unused keys they may work for the next event. So Save them! If that link still gives keys go get yourself another one and hold onto it until the next beta. Even better you could go preorder the game most retailers are supposed to be getting more copies in. (ps everyone that used this thread to get into the beta owes me 50 gold next beta event

Didn't notice that the page now directs to a wow beta signup page which is down.. Fortunatly i got a few extra keys while that page was up last weekend. Hopefully theyll still be valid and ill create some sort of contest to give them away to people who deserve them. Probably international people that cant get the pre-order for whatever reason. When the time comes ill post again with more info. Stay tuned.

yeahj since i couldn't get the pre order in norway, thanks to amazon.com for no sending pc and video games outside usa, even though all other amazon shops sends world wide.

well anywasy managed to save 5 unused keys so i hope i'll be able to use those for the upcoming events, most likley since their probobly keys that gamespot got from arenanet, in the same way many pc magazines got them in europe, like pc gaming world in scandinavia.

just a few more days and it will be time for guild wars again, wohoo!!

I do have 2 or 3 game keys from the gamespot giveaway that might work ill be giving away. Dont lose hope for this weekend though!
