Considering their playerbase demographics, I'd suggest they strongly reconsider their demand for "1000 virgins" .

"internet language", IMHO, always makes people sound stupid. I never could take someone seriously who terminates plural words with a 'z' or thinks it cool to sound dyslexic by using 'teh'

Of course, these the are same people who use Wikipedia articles as references. lol

My professor for numerical optimization that has a PhD and has published dozens of articles on the subject uses it frequently for our lecture notes.

What are you talking about? Their playerbase is "hardcore" gamer geeks. They already have 1000 virgins!

... You kind of missed the entire point: I don't think those are the kinds of virgins they had in mind.

Then I would suggest you re-evaluate your education that you are paying for.

You try to get a job with my company (Fortune 100) and say you use Wiki for anything we will be glad to circular file your application and resume.

    I'll just leave that here.

"The hammer of the gods will drive our ships to new lands,
To fight the horde, singing and crying: Valhalla, I am coming!
On we sweep with threshing oar, our only goal will be the western shore."

Really? What company do you work for and are you involved in mathematical modeling in the company, so I could get an idea of what kind of skills I should possess before applying?

Wait wait, so Columbus didnt land on in the East Indies in 1492? Wikipedia said so, so it's not right, correct?

Anyway, this gave me a good laugh :P

Wikipedia as the same validity as any other website on the internet. Not more, no less. Stop the histeria.   People that use it like the the Truth are idiots, and people that reject it on other equal lame based are idiots too.

Use it as a base, to search more info. Don't put it on your papers, if you can avoid it. If is unavoidable and your professor refuse it, change the professor, he is a idiot.

The whole reason my professor uses it is because he understands the material so well and can tell if the article written is entirely valid, or not. Wikipedia can save you a lot of tedious typing, especially when it's something you can readily verify as being correct.

I use it to find info, then look at other sources to confirm its info, then use the other source as my refrence, even though Wiki was right ont he subject, most Teachers/Professers dont like to see Wiki on there :P

You don't get the criticism of Wikipedia at all. Typical. Just because one entry happens to be correct, it doesn't make all of them correct. Pull your head out of your ass.

The probelm with Wikipedia is that any entry can be inaccurate at any given moment so there are no guarantees that what you reference is true at the time. That, my friend, is not fact, which is why Wikipedia is an invalid source for facts.
