They can't even get ONE server working right and all the preorder people in. What makes you think they have the resources to open a second server?

It seems unusual that Darkfall planned to have only one server whereas many other MMO releases (AoC, WAR) started off with huge numbers of Servers. NOw I understand that both AoC and WAR had to consolidate populations, but still I wonder if having too many is better than having too few

No chance we'll see a new server soon they dont have the first server half full.

Maybe in 1 month but i doub that.

    Games played:AC1-Darktide'99-2000-AC2-Darktide/dawnsong2003-2005,Lineage2-2005-2006 and now Darkfall-2009.....
In between WoW few months AoC few months and some f2p also all very short few weeks.

You must not have followed the game, they dont have the money for more than one server, this is an indie company, WAR had EA and Mythic backing it up, and AoC had eidos and funcom. so they both had one major game company to back it up with EA and eidos.

since (mostly) longer term and die-hard fans got the preorders and are in game, the reviews that come out will be mostly positive. This will give AV the upperhand in getting new subscriptions and could fill a second server when they eventually open up sales. Whereas if they invited a lot of people, including skeptics/career MMO players, they'd get more purely negative & slightly negative reviews which could give potential buyers second thoughts. The excuses given for lacking features in the "fanboy" reviews would be negated.

AoC & WAR invited everyone and got plenty of negative reviews which probably harmed sales/server populations.  DF won't have that issue.

Lame excuse don't have the money -- How much money do you think it is for one month to get a server stared and setup?  It's called a bank loan or line of credit with the company... they just sold say 5000 preporders for 50$ apop... any bank will give a company an advance, I think AV are great programmers poor business folk... it's called market and target audience and business proposals... they must have know they'd get more then 5k people wanting to play... go to the bank, we predict X amount of dollars, just need a bit more mone for servers-- we'll pay that loan within the month..

Not only does he not  have a clue but he apparently also doesn't know this game has been in development for over 7 years. I'm willing to bet they are completely tapped out of any kind of financial backing. It was release now or die.

Going to banks now for money, not a good time now.  We have no idea what is their financial position, my guess is that they have debts up to their neck.  They might have other issues we do not know, but they definitely do not have much reference or market rating to support their case.

The worst thing is, they seems to be very unorthodox in business practice.  This is not a good start to invite interested parties for investment, or bank loans.

If every company like aventurine can call a bank and obtain loans, our banks should all be bankrupt.

If it was that easy Hellgate London would not have folded it's cards after 8 months. The longer a game stays in production the less likely they are at finding any kind of investor. This is logic 101. Launching a game with 10.000 players give or take is not really going to give you any big funding or have any investors lining up funding your game. This will be my last reply to you since you obviously haven't gotten the faintest clue what you are rambling about. I would get a more intelligent conversation going by talking to a bag of coffee. Feel free to respond but don't expect a reply.

Aventurine  IS a publishing company. boohoo

Maybe if they had been more worried about deployment of their game instead of sponsoring race cars, they wouldn't be in this predicament.

I bet they did, and probably tried hard in vain.  Just a guess, do not quote me.

hellgate was offered money but they turned it down

aventurine didn't look for an outside publisher because they're greedy and wanted to maximize their profits at the cost of the gamers
