LOtRO Trial new classes problem

Hey guys, I've briefly tested this game long time ago, and Im considering getting it.

Thus I've dowloaded the trial client and are finaly ready to start playing. However it wont let me play the mines of moria classes, Warden and Runekeeper.

I get the impression from various googeling that I should be able to, even with trial account - so I was wondering if that is the case or not.

I might have pressed the wrong options during initial patching, (to avoid more hours pf download) which in turn might have ment that I dident get the moria stuff, but I dont know how I can get the option to get this now. the launcher has no option for it.

All help appreciated

Does my free trial provide access to content from Mines of Moria™, like the new classes and the Mines themselves?

Aside from the restrictions mentioned above, the trial functions exactly the same way that the game would normally. This means that both the Warden and Rune-keeper classes are available for creation during your free trial, and the Mines themselves are also accessible to players who achieve level 45 or higher – a difficult feat to accomplish during the trial period.

Well, you should have them, so dunno...if you didn't DL it all then that makes sense....do it again!

The Rune-Keeper and Warden classes are not available in the trial. You must purchase the MoM expack to unlock these two classes.

are you sure? just sounds like it should be from alot of sources.

The thing is that at the start of patching, there was this little screen asking me if I had standalone patches or fi I wanted to patch em now or if I dident want to patch at all.. etcetc.

and I fear I might possibly have clicked the wrong option there (dont want more patches or something) as I wasent sure if the trial would alow me to play that anyway.

Now I cant find that window or the options again

I am playing the Trial right now, I am a level 8 WARDEN

Remember Certain Classes are restricted by race. And your trial account needs to be newly created along with the latest download.

yea its 1-2 days old only. So not out dated.

But you know when you install the client, and the initial patcher thing starts asking you about what you want to install or if you have downloaded standalone patches etc.  --then it starts patching for the next day or so :D

Wel I think I somehow dident get the mines of moria thing trough that for reasons mentioned above, so now I dont know where to get that window back.

The EU and US trials must be very differnt then because my Buddy Keys from my expack did not include the MoM classes, nor did the trial from the Codemasters web page..unless there have been som changes the last month, I dont know about?

If the US trial contains the Warden and RK, I find it pretty wierd that the OP cant see them in his character creation since you cant go wrong in the progress, atleast you havent if you are able to start up the game...

Ah, wel I am using EU client actually. might be that its as you say a US thing where you can actually acess the classes.

And as for the cant go wrong thing,

I wish I knew how to better describe this, but the initial patching thing after first install, where you can choose to install some content from standalone patches, or non at all, or everything or whatever all the otopns where - I'me fairly sure I went wrong there.

I dont know if Im the right person to ask about patching, but I believe, if you are able to launch the game (create characters, enter world etc) your client should be up to date.

And, aslong your launcher doesnt ask you to install/patch anything, I almost 100% certain your client is fully patched. I wouldnt worry about it

     I agree with that,

The only exception is that for example, someone that hasent bought the expansion, may stil play the game except for the expansion material - i.e the new classes.

So theoretically if I dident Download the expnsion stuff, just the regular material on install. that could explain why I cant play those classes :)

Anyway, Im manually downloading it now so we'll see what happens. probably Ill just mess everything up. hehe

Problem with this theory is; even if you dont buy the expansion, the launcher will still patch and update your game with all MoM content ready to be unlocked by a single keycode.

My theory is... this has something to do with US trial being down before MoM was released and put back up after the release, while the EU trial have always been open and probably never gotten the proper update.

I think you need to dl the US version if you want to try out the new classes...

Allright, just to sum this up incase anyone reads it later.

My theory was that installing the expansion data was optional even trough the patcher, therefor I downloaded and installed them manually.

This however dident work either, so I guess its only US trial that has acess to thenew classes.

I did the trial download, I got to play only the Warden class.  After I bought the orginal game, both classes showed up on character creation.  I knew something wasn't right, since I didn't buy MoM yet.  So I never tried playing those classes.  I've heard that people who played the expansion classes during the trial weren't allowed to play them once they were off their trials.

That's my experience with it all.  Hope it helps you.
