open beta or not?

ok when i got home i just finished my download that took a day and if that werent bad enough i tried to make an account and the stupid world of warcraft people say its closed now. wait a second they just said it was an OPEN BETA not a closed beta. if this is an open beta y did they close it. i have never seen or heard of someone doing this. what really makes me mad is i spent the time to download it.
after this i am never going to by this game.

Yes, Im disappointed in the whole game as well. Spent time trying to download it and wasted my time. Guess thats why its free still. So im happy its only time wasted and not my dinero.

If people would have gone to Blizzard and read about the OB, there would have been far fewer problems. Is reading instructions a lost art? Blizzard stated long before OB started that there was going to be a limited number of keys. I don't know how many times I've seen people whine about how they didn't get in. Persistence was the key to get in. If you wanted to get into OB bad enough, you would be playing now. I don't know how many times I've read about people having problems with downloading the game. The downloader was open about a week before OB started. If you DL then, all you had to do was enter your key and could have started playing right away. I personally expected there would be a lot of problems after seeing how other games in beta fared. I had very little trouble getting into the game and the only reason was I was prepared.
Maybe there is a lesson to be learned here. Hmmmm!
yeah, why didnt you guys sign up when it first opened? you dont have to wait until after it downloads. heck, i did it at SCHOOL, where websense is crazy (but doesn't recognize signup.worldofwarcraft.com)
tough luck i guess, because i signed up when the site came back up.
This sucks. Due to a massive outage I missed my chance to get a key.
I hit submit to retrieve my key and as soon as I do that the whole internet shuts off and takes them 3 days to get back on. I come back just now and find I cannot get a key, even though they are now accepting sign ups again for those with keys. But I don't even have a key and can't get one anymore!
3 days!!!! This is not fair.

And guys like me take up client space to i already played for long time now and still have my character and play in OB maybe they should give new peeps chance to play and CB peeps not so more can enjoy the game before retail.
I would not mind not playing anymore before retail comes for last two weeks ive played alot already.
And im from europe lol, while lot of US peeps cant play :P

LoL i create the account, I downloaded the client which took me 1 day, but I can't play it because I am European.........
I know i should have read the Open Beta FAQs first, so I would have known that not only we have to wait 2 months more than the US counterpart for the commercial version, but we also can't have a taste of the game yet.
Thanks Blizzard for Loving us.........I don't know if I can wait 2 months til the game is released, and tomorrow EQ2 will be released in all the best European game shops........I am really tempted.......:)
I paid for the stress test2 cause it was allready stated on the boards that it was a limited open beta. this was due to EVERYONE and their mom making accounts. I am glad that I got into Stress Test 2 cause after ready GF's statements in the forums I KNEW OB was gonna close out.

Grow up dude, and just read a bit, it was known since a while there was going to be limited place. And it isnt fully open simply because Blizzard has a WAY TO BIG community behind them to pay bandwith for it, now quit whining please,
and btw sorry for you missing such a great game, and I'm sad you wont be buying it
Well i went in through fileplanets stress test (i vowed id never give fielplanet any more cash but ok i gave in). Fileplanet sucked as usual and it was a bit of a pain to get everything working but i got in and onto the open beta that followed.
Generally the game is quite fun. There have been criticisms that its a game for babies by the EQ2 crowd but then although the game is much simpler and the graphics may be colourful (if very basica compared to EQ2) they could learn a few things from teh responsiveness of the combat system in EQ2.
The comabt system in EQ2 seems to generally be press one button (maybe its improved since beta). Heroic opuruntiteis where broken most of the time in the EQ2 beta that were suposed to make it a bit more involving.
Crafting in Wow is a lot easier.....EQ2 crafting does kind of suck.
