My first few days
My first few days have been...fun with some frustration here and there. With almost all MMO launches it was not flawless. There are a very very small amount of MMOs that had a flawless launch. So far it has reminded me of early Ultima Online. For the first time in years I was actually angry I died as it had real consequences (My loot was gone and I loved that it was).
The frustration was a bug in video resolution where I would get the blue screen of death if I went above 1024x768. There was also a point where no NPCs were spawning. However, I know this is just a launch and it almost always takes a few weeks to get some bugs out of the way.
I am enjoying lumberjacking and crafting. I know that I need a craft in order to replenish whatever I lose in the battlefield. I am from Connecticut and my ping has been between 80-120. Combat has been fun for me. It's different than just locking onto a target and smashing some buttons. I have to aim carefully with archery and put some loft on some shots to hit targets. NPC AI has been decent so far. It will sometimes glitch but overall NPCs will run around and dodge your shots. So far, so good.

For some reason, i like opinions from people playing the game much more then from people not playing.
Have you explored yet? I would recommend to try one of the subcontinents : )
You mentioned combat, so hope you don't mind me using your thread to ask some questions about that
I'm at work right now and it's quite busy so i can't check ze internetz too much so meh.
Targetting: Is it click once and stay locked on target, can you tab tab tab to different targets? Reason i ask, is because of my next question:
Hiding: Can you hide behind something, like a bush or a tree or whatever and be more difficult to spot? Or can people tab and automatically find you? Or see your name sticking out from behind the tree?
I can answer it for you, been playing for two months.
1# Targeting: There is none! 100% manual aiming. You have a crosshair to aim with.
2# Hiding: You can hide, sneak, stealth and pray on any target as you want. You wont show up on a radar and no floating neon nametag will betray you. Its interesting to follow other players without they ever knowing you were there. Or escaping combat.

I've been on these forums for a few years now and try and stay reasonable. It's easy to get caught up in the hype. I've always gone with the approach of trying something for myself and evaluating it from there. I am happy I took this approach as I am having fun in game.
