During beta, the beta boards got pretty heated up, with the moderators doing a good job of banning people and removing them from beta. Every time I read really good point or question.. I'd notice that the OP was banned.
Aventurine secretly stop an all out mutiny weeks before the game's release. The only people holding the community together was largers guilds (mostly teenagers) wanting this game to be released, so they could get ahead with their exploits, before the others guilds find out about their money makers.
Remember when the NDA lifted all these fanbois running to the public boards, telling us how great this game is..? Anyone else notice they were mostly from large guilds?
Because most of them had their exploits all planned out and they aren't concerned with Darkfall's viability, but with their own selfish needs.
But, one thing early on was that Aventurine was adamant about and Tasos quickly corrected was almost every single time people brought up the FAQ or why doors didn't work and this or that. Tasos quickly replied with "Currently, that feature is turned off for beta...!"
More and more people bought into this lie and the slogan became the mantra of nearly every vocal fanboi. It was their favorite excuss as to how Darkfall was going to survive, or get better, or to quelch any arguement.
And those fanbois were right, it's hard to argue against such a statement. But what about now? Darkfall has been released 1 week and we are still waiting for this fabled Miracle Patch ...!
So, I ask Aventurine and the public, Where is this Miracle Patch ...?

It takes 9 months to give birth to a miracle !!
My Brute - Dare to challenge?
But Tasos is neither God nor a saint, although there are more than enough willing virgins ingame right now!

I don't think they promised a miracle patch
Games:
Currently playing:Nothing
Will play: Darkfall: Unholy Wars
Past games:
Guild Wars 2 - Xpiher Duminous
Xpiher's GW2
GW 1 - Xpiher Duminous
Darkfall - Xpiher Duminous (NA) retired
AoC - Xpiher (Tyranny) retired
Warhammer - Xpiher
In as much as I am skeptic, I understand that miracles just do not happen. Not now, when the market is relatively mature and ppl have other choices. Unlike EQ and UO back then when they were the only one in the business.
Problems take time to tackle. DF has issues, and that is natural and normal for a first launch. Why did they launch now, they have to launch sometime. Its done and its done.
We can only watch how fast they get their act up and issue hot fixes, patches or whatever they can, to get things moving forward. From what I hear, client side hacking is rolling large, and there are bugs and exploits rampant.
They need to stop this, as PVP hinges heavily on fair and smooth fights. If this fails, the whole game flops, as there is nothing left in DF apart from PVP.
You're right, that was my term used to describe when they are going to "Turn On" all the game features Aventurine said they had "turned off" during beta. It seems, they didn't have none of the stuff turned off, but was lieing to their fanbase...
So, I am asking when is the Miracle patch going to happen when they turn on all the stuff they were saying during beta that is in game, but "turned off".

I've found the miracle patch listed on another site,
"Features:
Speed Hack - Travel Faster then Normally Possible!
Radar Hack - Know where Players and NPCs are Around you
Gravity Hack - Take No Falling damage and Much More
Camera Hack - Activate a Free Rotating camera to always know what's around you
Autoclick Macro - Train Tradeskills like Fishing, Woodcutting, and Mining Automatically!
Skill Trainers - Train your Skills any time, even while away from the computer!
Many More"
Either that or it's the final nail in the coffin of Darkfall, a ten year pregnancy but only a few months of life in a closed enviroment where it shrivelled away. So sad

I don't think they said they had the features turned off either. I think that was just fan speculating. From what I've seen from live feeds, the only thing that is needed is slightly more mobs. Not a huge increase, but a little more than current.

Dude, shut up! Tasos himself had mentioned it several times, just go read their own beta boards, I think they are still public now. I don't have to go find a damn quote from him, because he widely used that term in many posts..!
You fanboi's will go to any lengths to cover his ass, won't you?

Youre correct, we have been lied to time and time again. This game is built on Lies
But they did "turn on" the features!
And DF is the game the devs promised us. They patch the game almost every day. I dont like when people belive some magic will help the game.
The devs are working hard to fix it. If you are ingame you will know it.
so are they gonna allow us build our own houses anywhere and hire npcs to help us? or these futures are long gone....?
Sad but true. The games whole architecture and 'design' lends itself to this. I don't think Av can plus this one.
Your the worse and you should be banned for constantly lying and purposely stirring it up by spreading misinformation. You aren't even a fanboi, you probably are an Aventurine employee.
STFU! I can post Darkfall's entire FAQ and when you do down the list some 70% of is not in the game. When someone during beta questioned Aventurine about this, there only response was "Oh, well we have that stuff turned off during beta, because there is no reason to test it" type comments.
Aventurine has said this on numerous occasions and within IRC. If you were in beta or even followed this game for any length of time you would knows this. Instead, you are just trolling these boards playing games. Matter of fact every single one of your posts have never given proof to any of your comments.

They didn't even state things were turned off in beta. People speculated that all the time, but it never came out of Tasos' mouth.
Yet another stupid thread created by someone who has no idea what he's talking about.
Problem 1. Not enough Dev's to make and put out patches and content in a timely manner (all those patches they did put in right before launch were made during the years it was in beta, they where only added during the last weeks).
Problem 2. Why is it still in debug mode ? And what does that tell you about there product. People are paying for beta in debug mode ?
Problem 3. Darkfall is a nitch game with a small pool if hardcore fan's, If the Dev's start to ban cheaters the pool is going to dry up fast and then where will they be ?

I believe they will implement NPCs soon, but I don't think people will be able to build their own houses.
Darkfall differ slightly from UO.
UO was more of a solo player oriented, DF is more Guild oriented.
Even if you were able to build a house I doubt it you will be able to defend it by guild raids, hence they are pointless I am afraid.
hehe
And there are thousands upon thousands of people dying to get their hands on a copy and be able to play? I don't think there are thousands of people cheating, I'd doubt if there's even more then a few dozen (if that). So no, it wouldn't "dry up fast" since the majority of us hate cheaters just like you guys do.
I recall several threads on these forums, where in a question was asked, and the responses from many of the "fanbois" was, "That hasn't been turned on". This occured on many occasions when related to the "Wondering mobs", "Where are they?" and "Why so few?".

It only takes a few dozen cheaters to run a game into the ground and ruin it for all.

But NPC's take up player slots. More npc's = less sub's.
I have a feeling the same goes with mobs.

I Was in beta.
I do not ever remember tasos saying there was a miracel patch, no do I ever remember him saying that things were turned off.
There were a couple of threads where people were speculating about this being the case, but tasos never said so himself. that I can remember.
Well, one thing we can all agree on. That the statement "It's turned off now!" was the only real and single most used counter-argument the fanbois had on this forum and have been overly obsesive in using it till DFO .............ehhh ......launched last week.
Would've been easier if they just added full loot to the private server of WoW they had. In that way they would have all the fun just like in Darkfall without any bad animations/sync issues/stability/pre-orders or w/e comes up next..
Iiii-iiiiiit's.... me!!! *Hooray*

they used it in beta too.. and it was rediculous... but oh well.
there were alot of things turned off in early beta, that got turned on later. and there were a few things turned on that weren't in beta for release. but not any miracle patch.
