MMORPG.com is proud to announce the addition of a new official blog to our site. Today, Cryptic Studios' Jack Emmert made the first of what we hope will be many posts.
We first became involved with Star Trek very tangentially. Cryptic Studios was looking around at various investment opportunities in the second half of 2007. We were working on Champions and were trying to decide our next steps. We happened to strike up a conversation with Francisco Partners; a great bunch of guys who introduced us to Perpetual. We’d of course heard of Perpetual and both of its projects (STO and Gods & Heroes). As MMO fans, we were looking forward to playing both games. People from both companies visited one another and showed off technology and development. Believe it or not, it’s pretty common to do this; the game industry is very congenial.

Nice. Bringing the calssics back. I never really did have a 'Thing' for star trech anyways. You can tell because I might have spelled it wrong. If you we're born in the late 70's or 60's you must of loved it. It used to be extremely popular.
Still pretty nice though. And cool news thread.
It is still popular even in the younger generations granted most wouldnt like the Original seris except the old school fans. but Next generation, Voyager and enterprise where good. DS9 i found more of a soap operah...
The game shouldnt really be judged by the show either considering its happening 10 years after the last Movie. And the universe storey line will be affected by the players actions while playing the game
