Limited lag issue - need assistance

AffibubbiAffibubbi Member Posts: 15

Hi all

Made an account in here, because I have a problem.

I have succesfully preordered/installed/patched and have been playing the game - no trouble along the way. The server is online and I can join without any trouble.

But I have an ingame problem, I run the game with decent fps, low ping (50-70), but i experience a massive lagproblem when "rightclicking" for the GUI and also when looting/talking to npcs even when pressing enter to activate chat. I think it might be a problem on my end, as I have asked in the public channel if anyone else has been experiencing this - no1 has.

Its a real problem as 20 sec is forever when trying to loot for example a goblin, as im dead when the lagging ends, by the hand of the goblin's mate.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Yeah maybe, the problem is that its not a very commen issue, as I have heard of maybe 1 other experiencing this thing.

Im in the process of updating every thinkable driver etc.

You may have better luck posting your DFO problems on the DFO forums.

I'm running on a very similar setup in Vista Business with zero issues.

As a follow-up I can say that this lappy has run AoC and WAR very nice. So it should be able to run DFO.

I have no idea as to why lag would appear on right-click functions. Visit this site http://www.tweakguides.com/ and grab a tweak guide for a new, fairly graphic-intensive video game (like Fallout 3). Run through some of the generic Windows tweaking advice inside and see if your problem disappears.

    Good luck!

Perhaps remap to keyboard helps ?

Some testers reported UI delays with a G15 keyboard. Can you try to over-ride your laptop keyboard and touchpad with an external USB mouse and leyboard?

I have mouse smoothing disabled, so its not it. Do you mean wireless internet? Yes, im using a wireless router, as we have 4 computers in the house. And I havent had any problem with online gaming at all.

I have tried using both an external mouse and keyboard with no different result.

I have seen the keyboard issue, and I have tried finding an updated driver for the keyboard/touchpad, the laptop producer (HP) havent produced any newer driver for the keyboard.

I have disabled things like Aero, but not much more, going to look into a bit more tweaking.

I believe that my wireless router is giving a higher amount of ping, but it has always been acceptable - 60-100 ms.

But i will try plugging the laptop directly to the router, see if that helps...
