When you distribute a game in a non-English speaking country I expect to be greeted in my language when someone picks up the phone. If one gets greeted in English, you have every right to demand a response in your own language.

If they refuse to accommodate you, you have every right to do an immediate chargeback through your bank.

This is for all the companies who distribute locally but don't bother to have the right infrastructure and personnel to service those people.

This is simply an impossible request and I think you know it. Best of luck with your problem anyway!

The customer support for game you bought is naturally in the same language as the game is. If it's an English game, then English customer support, and you're just plain stupid if you except anything else.

Its pretty difficult to accomodate the European market because of the broad language base.  A localization there takes atleast 6 times as long because you need to translate the game into that many languages.  Finding a multi-lingual staff to accomodate all the languages is even harder since a company is setup in 1 country where everyone speaks 1 language.  Its just 1 of those barriers you have to accept with European localizations.  The only company that seems to respect the multi-lingual basis of Europe are the makers of The Chronicles of Spellborn.

    That's really funny.

Because every time I call an American customer service, from America I get someone from India, who thinks he can speak English but really can't.

Microsoft is a great example of this.

English is so universal and I think alot of people find it easy to learn. It is also the language of the IT world...

I agree with the OP, but fior a different reason.

The company doesn't have to employ a person for everyknow language, but they should have contract arrangements with company that specialize in 3-way trasnlations to accomadate any requested language.

Its called good CS, something that many video games are not known for.

Why the hell in earth you think someone answer your call in "English" since they're in "non-English speaking country" ?

This. The world needs one language to communicate, English seems to be the winner in this regard, at least when it comes to IT and western video games.

If it comes to video games, you better learn Korean soon ( "korean" is right, right ? ). Western or not, they'll have the market soon or later.
