How many friggen screens do you need to gothrough? I went from the Login page to the billing page, then I clicked Order, and got to a screen where there was a "Buy" button at the bottom. I clicked it and it timed out.
Was that the last screen till you get the confirmation?
I'm pissed ¬¬ Reached the last step to buy the game 3 times (where you simply click the "buy" button and then you get the confirmation email) but everytime it crashed and now I don't have my order.....really sad.....AV needs a new system.....having 200k people refreshing the same dam site every freaking seconds is a really bad idea.

Yupp I got my copy
The fact remains that I wasn't so far away from getting my hand on my copy :P
Tasos might be a complete douche, but he's a marketing genius. Make your game "sold out" every five seconds so people think "OMG IT MUST BE SO COOL!" and are dieing to get in. Brilliant...
I wish people would stop supporting companies that release unfinished games by purchasing them, when its well known that they are not ready for release. maybe that would send a clear message that consumers expect a certain level of quality.
'They should be using this or doing that, eventhough the people have no idea about how ANY of this or that really works.
I love this line 'Why don't they do it so it doesn't have problems?'.
I swear sometimes we need this planet to get struck by a huge chuck of rock and start this evolutionary chain over again.
These people on this forums could be OUR kids.. Well not mine because I would beat them if they have any resembelance to the wet cheeked kids on any DarkFall forums.
It don't matter if they're laughing with you or at you, so long as they're laughing.

then again...
its not my money....oh well
No game is perfect at release. Actually, the gaming industry is not perfect at all anyway. People don't complain much when a F2P fails at launch as they think: "so what? it's F2P" but when it comes to a P2P game they start panicking about how they were scammed or how bad the company is etc.
Aventurine isn't that bad. Even though they released "an unfinished game" they patch the server in a matter of second resolving all problems that are reported withing a day (usually if you report a bug one day and it's a recurring bug, I can assure you that if not by the end of the day, it will be fixed early the day after.) Unlike most companies that just throw an unfinished game and hope players will pay, DF has been making sure that all players are stable before inviting more players on a weekly/daily basis. Something you don't see at all from all those big companies as they are pushed around by their investors.
Anyway, I'm sure you can name a couple of games that failed at launch but are now getting more and more popular (AoC for exemple).
My opinion....they needed to pay some bills so opened pre-order for a few hours to get enough to keep the debt collectors of their back long enough for a new round of pre-orders...happy gaming!
Aventurine only sold 500 ~ 1,500 copies/spots.. (max)
Aventurine cannot sell more than that at a time, unless they will have the same problems of congestion in the starter areas. Plus, they never stress tested the server in beta, so they do not know how many people their server can hold. That was part of the reason for their "staggered release". They will let small groups of people in until their net-code isn't tweakable anymore and THEN, Aventurine will know how many can fit on a server.
The best estimate is about 5,500 ~ 6,000 subscribers are now playing Darkfall. There will probably be only 2 or 3 more of these before they meet max capacity. Which coincidentally I don't think will be 10k simulataneous, but more like 8k or 9k.

No, I cannot read 9pt font @ 1920 x 1200, even on my 28" dell. Since this web site sucks and doesn't allow you to choose 12pt fonts and just small, medium, large..etc. I choose medium.

Gosh darn it....I want to make a thread saying, "Sold Out!". It seems to be the "in" thing right now.

Looking for a new game to play
