wasnt surprised when i saw first post date.. as it was reason why i left the game in first place too.. having high end pc at that time ( clearly not as much high end now ) and half asses graphics in game..
game ran great in open beta/early start.. with max settings + everything upped in nvidia panel.. 2-3 weeks of patches.. and performance was terrible , constant fps drops.. aoing public quests.. and going from 50 to 20 fps.. 24/7 and stuff..
was one of many things i saw in warhammer.. beyond fixing
sad if its not fixed almost half year after release ..
Reading through the responses and I think that you need to reduce your performance settings in game. There should be a clip plane or distance you can see. Both of these will reduce the amount of computations needed. There could be a number of reasons for this such as error checking on the war side or your computer generating graphics. At some point, the extra computations should be reduced once the system is proven stable.
I have the same processor, RAM and OS, but a nVidia 6600. I ran Warhammer fine in the starter areas with the default graphics the game set (probably minimum, but no lag). Check if you have any processes hogging your CPU.
