Healing in this game

OrderoOrdero Member Posts: 86

Let's talk about healing in this game cause it's not been mentioned much.

I could infer from another thread (with tons of flaming back and forth, let's keep that out of here) that casting an AOE healing spell runs the risk of actually healing my enemies as well as my team-mates, is this correct? Come to think of it, why shouldn't it; it's an AOE so why shouldn't it affect anyone who is in range. Btw, does it also affect mobs in the same way if you're fighting those?

If so, that should make playing the healer a real challenge, rather thank making him/her the healbot of traditional MMO gameplay!

Discuss, but keep it civil :)

LOL no one will discuss anything regarding DF

Its just midless flaming from both sides, and both sides know this.

If you want to find out I suggest buying the game and finding out for yourself.

I made a funny "buy the game" since I dont have an account myself yet

Yup its gonna be a real challenge for healers in this one. Your gonna have to have good team coordination. I would use a tactic like knocking back all the enemies and gather round the healer get healed and go kick some ass.  This would obviosly require voice chat. Vent. or the free gsc!      getgsc.com/

It would have to, cause dfo is HARDCORE...having good  features doesnt mean carebear...hardcore must mean doing with less, and having a hardtime doing it...easy fix have heal spells only hit friendlies..or make targeting for friendlys, but still make it where you can hit frienlies, targeted or not.. wouldnt want to take anyhting from the HARDCORENESS

I bet you guys are hardcore idiots.

What is the freaking answer to the OPs question ? How does freaking healing work in Darkfall ? How are the skills balanced against armor or anything ? Since its skill based everyone can heal. Are there any restrictions ? Like in SoR a guy in heavy armor could heal, but the heavy armor raised the heal costs and he went oom after one or two heals, where the guy in light armor could cast a lot more heals.

How does healing work ? If i want to know the meaning of hardcore ill look it up on wikipedia or a real lexicon.

There is not alot of healing in Darkfall.

There are some direct heals, and one aoe heal but u have to stand still when u cast it.

And both will benefit the enemies when u use it.

    And there is potions ofcourse.

Right now in the beginning of the game healing only affects combats in a minor way, but once the game progresses, someone going with 100 in the spell school and 100 in the heal spell, + 100 int + 100 in all the support skills wil probably heal for quite abit.

But noone has gotten that far yet so we dont know.
