I tried both the Mage and the Warlock (as gnomes).
I always liked spellcasters with pets (like the Enchanter in DAoC). So my preference goes to the Warlock...
But i think the Mage gets better spells, at least more diversified. Am i wrong?
In short : What are the pros and cons of the Mage & Warlock ?

Play whatever you want. Don't like it, play to level 10, and change. My gnomish rogue was kinda getting boring. I said I'd play him until level 10, and if I didn't like him I'd reroll. Once I hit level 10, I'm using guns, dual wield, and got some very nice skills. I am always welcomed in parties and have yet to lost a duel.
In short: Play whatever you think will be fun.

Agreed, and that's exactly what i plan to do
But i would like to have the opinion of other players, being specific about the gameplay and the spells.
Pros & cons, advantages & disadvantages...
I'd say overall warlock is easier to solo, both are useful in a group with mage probably being a bit more so, with their CC and decent damage output. It's all a matter of play style. Having not played a lock very high I can't comment much on them, but they seem pretty fun. I like my mage, but it can be frustrating to solo sometimes.
I plan on playing a mage. It will be nice to always have food and drink for free. I will probably eventually try every class. Yay to Blizzard for letting us have more than 4 characters per account!!!
