I doubt very much that this game support DX10. I'm not sure if it even supports DX9, to be honest with you.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHA
DX10? This game predates Vista by like 7 years... AAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHA

The game does not utilize Direct 10, but it does work fine on Vista. If you are currently using XP, there really is no need for switching to Vista unless you are planning on getting the 64 bit Vista, which can support more RAM.

I have bought a new decent System on Dec08.
First i started with Vista64 but not for 100'000 $ i would reinstall it ever again - maybe in 2-3 years when it reached the point where now xp64 is.
The Driver support is terrible i couldnt get run properly my 4870x2, tried 5 different ccc versions and it didnt worked at all. Also i had loads of troubles with the SB fatality champion.
If you like XP stay on it, i have now XP64 with 8GB ram and it runs really stable and slow. I'd rather stay away from DX10 than using a not finished OS (like Vista) and drivers.

Intel Q9550 (4x 2,83) - 8 GB RAM (1066)
ATI 4870x2 - SB X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Champion
2 x 650GB & 750GB
The machine I have now uses 64 bit Vista and I haven't had any problems.

Sorry, but your driver problems aren't Vistas fault. But I am sure you know that already, you was just wanting to trash Vista.
To the O.P.: As was stated, Darkfall couldn't use DX10 even if you did install Vista. In fact, according to the listed specifications, it only requires DX 9.0 to run.

Sorry but that is just plain bull.. you obviously dont know shit about the OS, and just scratched the surface. Vista x64 owns Xp 32 / 64 bit any day... granted it might not be perfect, but nothing is. Performance wise Vista x64 just needs the proper hardware to really shine.
It sounds like you heard someone talking about Vista and are now just guessing. Driversuppeort WAS BAD, correct, performance WAS not very good, correct, but now, with proper hardware which you seem to have, XP is just old news...
Either you did something wrong, didnt update Vista fully, or whatnot, I dont know, but I do know that your above statement on Vista is based on absolutely nothing.
It just goes to show you, with threads like these people actually think DF is a top of the line MMO. How more wrong can you be.
You guys really can't let any thread go without trolling it can you?

You know what's funny? I just built a system with Vista 64 Ultimate and it runs like a charm. I've had no driver support problems, no BSoD the OS runs perfectly.
I also have a laptop which has Vista 64 Home Edition and that runs like a charm also.
Vista did have driver support problems when it first came out but so did all the other versions of Windows (XP, ME, 2000, 98, 95, etc). Now, however, unless you're using 10 year old hardware that's no longer supported, you shouldn't have any driver issues.
My guess is that you either have no idea what you're doing or have no idea what you're talking about. Or both.

I've played countless games on Vista 64 with zero issues. You may want to buy Personal Computers for Dummies and start with the foreword.
