Why does this section often feel as a science vs creationist debate?

(Edit: I posted this in the Darkfall section, but it got moved here.....wich was the first place i thought i would post it in. But i didnt wanna bother everyone with it. Well, here it is.)
I mean, we have a game that can speak for itself (reality). And we can get facts from that source.
Still people come here and state other things, often people with no knowledge or interest in the game. And worse, they use ignorance as a "proof" for thier opinions! And when fact is reveled, they either ignore it or try to attack something different in the new fact.
And the haters also try and find every aspect of the game that the fans have no answers to, as a support to a haters cause.
So thats why i often feel as im watching a science vs creationist debate here. And yes, it can be very fun sometimes. But we have been doing it here for many years. The game is kinnda released and people playing are happy. They might be fanbois everyone, but if there will be 300000 fanbois playing DF....why would anyone else then a fan play a MMO?? Same with all other MMOs i guess.
Maybe its time for the haters (non players) to move on? You totally ruled the other years here, but now its 2009!

I think wrong forum. Play Darkfall, don't worry about the forums, if you don't have Darkfall, find something better to do with your time.

Yeah, you are right. Good advice. I was merly thinking of the colletral damage the fake debate was doing.
it's you choseing to ignore the objective reviews because they show the game is very lacking and not a sandbox at all, much rather a huge PVP arena. Many people like that, as you do, and this is totally fine, but it's not what the majority was expecting from Darkfall, not by a long shot.
Im not talking about reviews. Im talking about when people say "There is no PvE in Darlfall". But the fact is, there is PvE.
What im trying say is this: It seems to be ok to make such claims for darkfall. But if someone said "There is no PvP in WoW" we would know its not true. So just because the game is new, its ok to lie about it?

And there lies the problem for me. We have so many exaggerated and misinformed posts all the time. As if noone bother to chech the facs : (
There will always be some, but now its to much for my taste. And before someone screams "DF fanboi" to me, i feel the same for all MMOs. I hate when someone spread false (misinformed) info.

The similarity is that we really don't have that much information on the game. Most people haven't been able to play it, and even among those who have, they haven't been able to play it for very long. Lack of information leads to rampant speculation.
Of course, some people have been able to play the game, so we have a lot more information on it than on the origin of the universe. Trying to go back and guess at what happened before the written historical record starts is intrinsically a lot of guesswork. It's highly probable that much of what science "knows" about events beyond several thousand years ago is simply wrong. We can use proxies to measure, we can make educated guesses, and so forth, but that's not nearly as reliable as having the written testimony of someone who was there to observe the events.
In order to say anything at all about the distant past, we have to assume no huge, world-changing events, or perhaps only a very few that we have some proxy evidence of. The world is a very different place from what it was only a century ago. People want to claim that the earth has been around for billions of years and this is the very first time that big changes as we've seen in the last century have happened? That's an enormous assumption, and I'm really not buying it.

When you find a game you like, stop coming to these forums for a while. That's what I do.
Also keep in mind people still rip on WoW, so it doesn't matter how big or popular a MMO is, it will get ripped on. That's just the way it is.
Do you live in the USA? First Amendment. Freedom of speech. State your opinion, let others state theirs.
If you like Darkfall, then state that. If someone says DF is a piece of crap, you are free to disagree, and state why.
Why ask for people to "move on" because you disagree with their opinion? Suppression never works. The truth will out, but never if you seek to gag one side of the debate.

To make a comment on your title: neither side concede a point to the other side. Even if the point they make is completely valid and indisputable they will not concede it.
Unfortunately, you seem to fall into that category after looking through your post history. You are one of the loyal legions to Darkfall.
Also, this type of topic can be made for any MMO. WoW, Warhammer, AoC, Vanguard. They all have blind fanboys and unrelenting trolls. Darkfall is just the newest one. Controversial development cycle and catastrophic launch only cemented its extreme bipartisan status.

Maybe it's because most people's facts fall far short of actual facts, they are merely opinion. This goes for both sides.
A great man once said, "maybe becuase he trusts your guess better than most people's facts." And that officially labels me as a geek, egads.
