It is against SE terms to use third party software, BUT, they have no means to know if you are using windower. So, use it and do not talk to anyone about it via ingame channels.
Anyone claiming SE can find it is simply trying to scare you into not using it.
Hi. I am one of the utterly few people who has played wow and even raided in wow without using 1 single addon.
Oh and i was a clicker and healer. Only used what blizzard provided. however bliz did implement tons of popular addons. now recently they have added a thread meter add on but in a different way from the popular ones.
About the windower. I have tried it i wont lie and well there were things i did not like.
Thats every single addon save the draw distance. You can simply take out the mods from the folder and actually have just the draw distance.
But why i didnt like the other addons. One they are buggy. Very buggy and two they obstruct your view when you open windows to chect stats ect. the timers are so wrong. some decrease other increase and when you have a few buffs all the numbers get mixed. if you use an ability like your 2 hour one you have to toleate the stupid timer on your screen which gets in the way when your at the ah, checking your items in the mog house ect. The ligting for me is a cheat as well some parts were ment to be dark. also the fact that i have to turn off my bump mapping to make it work sucks. Oh and dont use it in the dunes unless you plan to blind yourself.
The tp party i didnt like either as it gives me an unfair advantage knowing where everyones tp is at but the other players from the ps2 and 360 cannot see this, also since i do macro my tp anyhow to time skill chains (yep i love to do those still) its useless for me.
now about the draw distance. This is the only thing i Love about the windower and it does not affect game play at all, it only affect visually.
You can see the landscape much better , nothing pops up on your screen when you dont have it. Now the draw distances does NOT let you see mobs thru walls, It Does not let you see mobs farther away. their draw distance comes server side. The windowers draw distance is only a cosmetic thing. for me it made the game look much better as the popup for me is a bit annoying. I also messed with my reg files to make the game look crisp. i doubled my resolution on it. This game actually does look very amazing with these tweaks dispite its age.
