last time I visited that website, it was unremarkably slow... just because it was a free mmo..
I really don't think that free mmos like this one will survive forever.
Its still considered to be in beta-test, (by this site at least), and will likely not be free if there is ever enough interest in it.
I played a free trial for it awhile back, easily one of the worst free MMORPGs ive played. Mu Online is better
