Blizzard really out did themselves with quest in WOTLK.

Some very memorable quest as well, a couple of my favorites is seeing harrison jones an indana jones wannabe and helping him fight a huge snake. Any one else really loving these quest? They did such a better job than those in the burning crusade.

My favourite one is a two parter from Dragonblight. When you get there, you are a lvl 72-74 and get a quest to defend a huge hourglass from naughty dragons, (this is all for those goody dragons from Caverns of Time) and to help you with this task comes a future you who's a mirror image of your character and two of you together fight of the dragon attack.

Second part is when you come back to that place as a bigger level and you get a quest to help your past self to defend the huge hourglass.

I agree that the quest in WotLK are improved, but the point is that I hate quest in MMORPG at all.

Why would I have to follow the story to play like I did in single player RPG?

Not to mention the "kill 10/10 pigs", "get 10/10 orange" quests.

    MMO played (paid):
    AION
    DragonRaja
    Dungeons & Dragons Online
    Lineage
    Lineage 2
    Tibia
    Ultima Online
    Warhammer Online
    World of Warcraft

    MMO tried:
    Atlantica Online
    Darkfall
    Dead Frontier
    Dungeon Runners
    EverQuest
    Lord of the Rings Online
    Monster Hunter Frontier Online
    Ragnarok Online
    Requiem
    Runes of Magic
    Runescape
    The 4th Coming

and some other Chinese/Korean or beta MMOs

I had quit WoW in frustration, when a lady asked me politely to come and play with her... damn Blizz for providing us with very entertaining quests in LK. I am back, hooked, and even went and formed a guild... again...

Wow is a half decent game you just don't want to admit it. Can you grow sick of it yes, but I don't think anyone that has played wow didn't have the "smallest" bit of fun at all I know when I used to play I did but I refuse to go back although there were good times in it.

Wow... I'm really shocked by these opinions. I bought WotLK and didn't even get to level 71 before I quit because I was so sick of running boring quest after boring quest. I absolutely cannot stand the "quests" in WoW which are nothing more than tasks, and boring tasks at that.

They really should have 1/4 of the quests they currently have, but make each one far more involved, more immersive, and with an exciting story. The KotOR style "quests" come to mind. Those were really fun and I couldn't wait to hear the next part of the story. Sorry, but "Collect 25 feathers" or "Kill 15 boars" isn't fun to me.

Tried: LotR, CoH, AoC, WAR, Jumpgate Classic
    Played: SWG, Guild Wars, WoW
    Playing: Eve Online, Counter-strike
    Loved: Star Wars Galaxies
Waiting for: Earthrise, Guild Wars 2, anything sandbox.

Not sure if this quest is part of the new content, or leftover from TBC, but one I think is very entertaining I observed my son doing this week where you end up fighting a wyvern like creature while flying through the air using special skills given to you for the quest, like "Pry".

Last night he screwed it up for the first time and fell to the ground, which took so long he was able to take off his weapons before going splat.

But it showed a lot of imagination, and can't be accused of being your typical 'fetch this, go there' quest.

Yeah my oldest son loves WoW.

    He's ten now.

He tells me "Daddy when I get bigger I wanna play the big MMOs like you"

Its nice, its like WoW is a kind of MMO training wheels for him.

He loves the babyish quests and the cute purple armor he gets to buy from pvp.

He plays arena with his friend from school and My sister in laws friends nephew.

    Little guys are doing good.

I tell him in big boy MMOs when you die you lose everything you have on, it freaks him out a little.

He plays on Dark Iron I believe its a Pvp server NA.

    Playing: Nothing

    Looking forward to: Nothing

Yes that is a new quest, very fun one infact, ITS A DAILY!!

My favorite actually, its quite challenging at first.  Once you figure out the pattern it becomes easier but its never a garenteed win against that Drake...

    Mean thing it is!

Huh? people were talking about the quality of Wotlk I was saying my son enjoys the game so I agree.

Am i trolling because I consider WoW a good game for him to play?

Seriously it is a good game for him to play.

WoW is easy, this is a good thing hes only 10.

WoW has friendly pvp were you don't lose all you stuff, I personally feel my type of gameplay would stress the little guy out.

I said his friends enjoy WoW arenas, this is not a slam on WoW.

The dungeons in WoWs game are fun and he enjoys them very much, the game doesnt have those crazy one hours death runs to your body like EQ. Dungeons and pvp in wow teach him team work.

All in all I agree Wotlk is a very good game for my son.

Maybe your offended by a little kid liking wow? maybe you should grow up and realize these are kids games also?

    This is SOOOOO sad.

Wanting to be recognized as an "authority" on mmorpg.com and how do you do that ?

    - putting EVE in your resume of course (showing off a so called hyped intellectual sandbox game - or should I say "cockpit").

    - saying every month you watch your "son" of 16 play WotLK.

    Kyleran,

... even watching over their shoulders ... can't be done by 16 year olds. If I try to do that I get hit.

Just say you try WotLK and we will forgive....

    ----

Just funny to see these posters hiding behind teenagers.

They just need to say: a hell of a nice game I always like to look at and come back to.

No need to include your teenage sons as an excuse....

You got the wrong guy, Kyle is not the one you need to aim that resentment, the other one with a son is.

No no. The other one was the obvious troll I took care of in another thread :)))

I know Kyle, he's the right person to talk to, but I know I can't look over the shoulders of my 16 year old :)) anymore.

Difficult age you know... Yesterday I saw him for the first time in the general chat of Lake Wintergrasp say something like 'Thanks Blizzard ... you suck". We lost the castle of course ....

One more month and I guess he will be posting on mmorpg.com the useal frustrations at this age :))))

:)) Anyway Kyle is mentioning the play of his son one time too many I think.

    No hard feelings anyway. :))).

It's just that if you look at a Wow screen after X days of non play ...., it just invites you to play with all those bright colors.

I think there's something wrong with you guys.

A person comments on a game his or her kid plays and you label them a troll? why because I don't think WoW is a game I would play myself?

Seriously and you wonder why people can't stand WoW fanbois?

I'm sorry my son enjoys WoW and Dude you couldnt take care of me in a thread if you tried.

Wanna put up a eve v wow thread ? i'd own your ass.

    morons.

Yes that one is very good. I too think Blizzard "did good" with this one. Although i think a couple more classes and or races would have helped them keep folks attention.  I have an alt  mage i am leveling through Outland and the place is dead. I wonder what folks will do when they tire of WOTLK.  But as said, all in all its a much better xpac than BC.

The quest in wotlk are great. Those that wont accept that have never tried them imho. The phasing quests are in a league of their own. The best I have seen.

(btw. strange how all mmoprg.com threads seems, at some point, to degenerate to trolling and anti-trolling. I thought it was common knowledge to NOT feed trolls and stay on topic.)
