Hi there, I was just wondering if the item's in the mall are essential?

I don't know for sure, I've only been playing this for two months now and haven't reached endgame yet (often where cash shop use really kicks in). The only thing I've truly found essential enough to buy with money are 4 merc room licenses.
Basically it's a multicharacter game, you have a party of 9. But there are more than 9 classes in the game (probably 20 or so). I didn't want to dump my old guys for the new ones, so I just bought the merc room licences.
Though bear in mind, there were alternatives. You get a few temporary ones in game. And you can easily early a weekly rooms just doing PvP battles. And I've probably made enough money in game to buy a couple permanent ones (they seem to go for 35 million or so on my server, I've got that much sitting in my in game bank account and I also blew 20 million on a white horse)
Honestly, though, most the stuff in the item mall seems like junk. The only good stuff (mounts, I guess) is only available through gambling boxes, which I don't buy.
