So, I got my trial account up and running to give this game a go.
So far I am a bit bemused with the whole RvR Scenarios. I like to heal, so I picked a Runepriest, and was ready to get my healing on, and the more I play this game the more I have to ask myself, do Order just plain suck? Or is it just at lower level? Is there some imbalance I am not seeing?
I think so far I have only seen Order win twice, and it seems to be due to a complete ignoring of the game objectives. For instance you will push back the ememy line to try and take a point, and when you get there, your whole advance just scatters, leaving me at the point like a lemmon wondering where everyone went.. On other occasions the teams I am on just stand there watching the enemy at the point, but nobody advances. Till one lone runepriest runs in and gets herself killed (well I couldn't just stand there).
Please tell me this is just at low level. I expect this type of thing in say WoW, but isn't this supposed to be a pvp game? You'd have thought people would try?
Or am I just cursed with the wrong groups over and over?

PuGs can suck equally badly for dest too, its probably an official MMO rule or something.
One of the biggest problems with PUGs is the lack of communication. You've got a group of strangers thrown together, and are expected to act as a cohesive unit. If you've ever seen the movie Cube, you know how that can end. So what can you do about it? COmmunicate! Once you get into the group, introduce yourself, identify your role and objective. Call out specific loot you're interested in (it may not do much good, but it can't hurt). From personal experience, once you do this others will too, and the PUG ends up working a lot better.
Good luck!
Evil will always win, because Good is dumb.
And yes being low level does affect this----- tiers are seperated by level ,1-11 is tier one-- if your on the high end of that spectrum say 10 or 11 things become a lil easier and your survivability greatly increases--- once you hit 12 your on the low end of the spectrum in tier 2, so the process starts over------- also pugs do suck-- especially in lower levels cuz most people have no idea what to do----but its mostly the luck of the draw, depends on who and what level and class people you get stuck with-- sometimes you will roll over your enemy for hours sometimes you will get rolled
I played a scenario today in T1 where Order had 6 healers and Dest only had 2... guess who won.
Destro? chances are the order player all grouped at the bridge and ended up in stalemate with a group of Destro players. While a couple Destros ninjaed the other nodes.
this happens on both sides. one scenario there were 3 healers on destro side, and I played my Chosen. all of them would rather try to dps instead heal me whilr i tried to break enemy advancement. needless to say we didn't do good in that scenario.
This game was built for PUG'ers. Do not expect much. The system does not reward better strategy from friends on vent either unlike DAoC did.

Huh? what do you mean by strategy it is all about healing the person, capturing towers etc in every MMO/ even FPS.
its just depends how many healers you will have, what lvl are people and do they know to play or not.
and ofc if you want good pvp go for open RvR.
same experience as a runepriest too. same situations all the way up the tiers. had to leave the game as couldn't take it anymore.
There is no trying just a usual zerg fest of randoms without a clue. When other people in game can effect your enjoyment of what is suppose to happen right is just bad.
It's just a pug issue.
The game is MUCH, MUCH more enjoyable when you got a group of people you reguarly play with. Joining a guild should be a priority.

Em ahahaha... Nordenwatch that was pretty much standard for Order.
I went back for a month in December and started a new character because I didn't want to play my Rune Priest.
Pretty much after T1 I didn't even see the point of scenarios and just looked for action like Keep takes or Defense. Probably the biggest turn off in the game for me at least on PT at the time was. Order would run 2 or 3 warbands. Destruction also was running 2 or 3 Warbands.
9 out of 10 times they would avoid each other and just work a circuit of PVE'ing keeps and objectives while the enemy warband did the same in another pairing.
I really didn't see the point of going to a PvP game to avoid... PvP. Every now and then we'd defend but the Order Warband would not go to a keep if there was even 1 defender.
Well out of the 30 days I was back we attacked a defended keep twice...
I actually uninstalled on day 27 because I just couldn't take it.
