Question about magic.
Ive seen that you have to pick what spell you want to use and then Cast it...like morrowind or oblivion. Is that true?
Is it possible to just hotkey every spell.......just seems kinda gimp to have to constantly PICK the spell and then use it, instead of just using it.

someone said being a mage was pretty much useless is this still true?
also does magic still look corny when you cast/shoot it? it looks easy as hell to just like take 2 steps to the side and get out of the way. magic looks kinda pointless.

You CAN have all your spells bound to a hotkey.
But in order to cast a spell, you have to "Load" it, which is basically just pressing the hotkey and then using the skill. If you want to use another spell, then you simply "Load" another one and use it.
Magic is quite useful.
Its still two key clicks for one action.
I realize the combat of this game at the moment is fairly simple but still...
If on my ice mage I had to load every spell to use it... o my.
you only have to equip your staff after that you simply hit the hotkey to the spell you want, pretty much its equip staff if not allready equiped go into combat mode (R) and hit the hot key to whatever spell you wanna use then your good to go if you wanna use a differant spell just hit its hot key and it instanly changes you use L mouse button to attack. ealy magic while not useless is kinda week but get much better but also costly as you get into the higher spell skills
Game's like this, with active aiming, would be ruined by the spell being used just by selecting it. All games that have manual targeting require you to activate the skill/spell with the lmb. If you just changed to the spell and it started casting, it might be aimed where you don't want it to be. Also, if it started loading, you wouldn't be able to hold it before firing it off, unless it didn't fire until you clicked, which would result in 2 clicks anyway. It's really not as big of a deal as you might think. Think of it like switching guns in an FPS game. You'll get used to it in 2 seconds, guarantee it. In game's like WoW, for example, just selecting the spell is fine because you're locked on to a target. That doesn't cut it in twitch games.
Sad thruth is no one really knows 100%.
The starting spells are pretty useless, in lesser magic, launch and mana to stamina become useful fast. But that is pretty much what we know atm.
I will hopfuly be getting into the good stuff in the next few weeks and will be able to shed some light on the subject.
