Famed pastor predicts imminent catastrophe
Best-selling author, Teen Challenge founder, sees 'earth-shattering calamity about to happen'

of a major ministry to teens predicts an imminent "earth-shattering calamity" centered in New York City that will spread to major urban areas across the country and around the world – part of what he sees as a judgment from God.
David Wilkerson, author of "The Cross and the Switchblade," a book about his ministry to troubled New York street kids that was later made into a movie starring Pat Boone, tells readers of his blog this weekend that he is "compelled by the Holy Spirit to send out an urgent message" about his prediction.
"An earth-shattering calamity is about to happen," he writes. "It is going to be so frightening, we are all going to tremble – even the godliest among us."
Wilkerson's vision is of fires raging through New York City.
"It will engulf the whole megaplex, including areas of New Jersey and Connecticut. Major cities all across America will experience riots and blazing fires – such as we saw in Watts, Los Angeles, years ago," he explains. "There will be riots and fires in cities worldwide. There will be looting – including Times Square, New York City. What we are experiencing now is not a recession, not even a depression. We are under God’s wrath. In Psalm 11 it is written, "If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?"
Wilkerson is the founding pastor of Times Square Church in New York City, where he launched a ministry to gang members and drug addicts in 1958. He is a highly regarded mentor to other pastors in evangelical circles and travels the world holding conferences for other Christian ministers.
In this age of evil, be a champion for God and stand up for the absolute truth of Scripture, not the misconceptions you've been led to believe. Get "Shocked by the Bible: The Most Astonishing Facts You've Never Been Told" personally autographed!
His work in New York in the 1950s and 1960s led to the formation of Teen Challenge – a nationwide ministry to reach out to people with life-controlling habits. Teen Challenge has grown to include 173 residential programs and numerous evangelism outreach centers in the United States, and 241 centers in 77 other countries. The program claims a recovery rate of 86 percent.
The story of Wilkerson's first five years of ministry in New York is told in "The Cross and the Switchblade," a book he co-authored in 1963. The book became a best-selling phenomenon and more than 15 million copies have been distributed in over 30 languages.
"God is judging the raging sins of America and the nations," claims Wilkerson. "He is destroying the secular foundations." Wilkerson urges everyone to stockpile a 30-day supply of food and other necessities to deal with the catastrophe he foresees.
"I do not know when these things will come to pass, but I know it is not far off," Wilkerson concluded in his message. "I have unburdened my soul to you. Do with the message as you choose."
A past vice president of the Southern Baptist Convention is hoping believers pay attention to Wilkerson's message.
"I have known David Wilkerson for more than 25 years as well as many of his friends and associates," said Pastor Wiley Drake. "He is a godly man and I believe he is listening to God. I encourage each Christian to read and heed what God is saying through our brother."

He probably just forgot to take his fiber
It wasn't the pastor who was ruthlessly gunned down in chuch today was it? Because that we pretty devastating.
I think the man mistakenly took some LSD then watched Cloverfield.
HE'S A TERRORIST
HE KNOWS WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN BECAUSE HE'S GOING TO DO IT
THAT BASTARD
Woohoo...bring it on! This world needs a good cleansing.
Fixed!
My blog is a continuing story of what MMO's should be like.

lol
*monotone* Oh no, not New Jersey, oh please God no.
I think God can do a little bit better than damaging our economy. Where's the badass psycho God from the bible? Somehow, 'a plague upon all our second mortgaged houses' seems very unthreatening.
Let's kick it up a notch. Imagine: "Millions die during riots after all porn suddenly disappears!" or something even worse: "Due to budget cuts, all television shows will be replaced with 'The View' and endless reruns of Lifetime Channel movies from now on."
Ouch. Guess it's time to tune in for another episode of "I punch you in the face because I love you a bunch."
Well, you know, Satan was kind enough to offer man knowledge of good and evil. Where as God demanded ignorant servitude.
"If you can't out wit them, report them till they're banned!"- PopinJ'
Yikies.
LMAO! So true....
I've been watching headlines and sitting on my hands cause of all the whining every lib does on here when someone posts a news article that's unflattering to Obama, but they jumped on the one (out of maybe 50 about Obama) that made conservative/christians look bad.
A Christian says he heard from God and libs freak out... Al Gore uses made up shit to say the world is gonna end and libs nash their teeth over the pain their planet is suffering at the hands of the evil republicans.
Hah this is right up there with Pat Robertson's goofy stuff and Kirk Camerons crockoduck. Why won't real christians ever go after and pwn these donkeys?
Don't be terrorized! You're more likely to die of a car accident, drowning, fire, or murder! More people die every year from prescription drugs than terrorism LOL!
Because Real Christians are out trying to make the world a better place... the sheep are in this guys church to scared or Ignorant to do anything about him.
If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude; greater than the animating contest for freedom, go home from us in peace. We seek not your counsel, nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you; May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.

I think we have a winner.
Yesterday my grandfather told me that if humans were wiped from the planet there would be no more volcanoes, tornadoes, or hurricanes. He thinks natural disasters are humans' punishment for behaving the way we do. By "behaving the way we do" he means wearing skimpy skirts, listening to rock and roll, interracial marriage, drinking alcohol, using birth control, etc., etc. I don't bother to debate him on thes topics. I state my views and then smile as he shakes his head.
When I asked him if he believed dinosaurs existed he answered "I don't know". ROFL! "I DON'T KNOW!". All I can do is laugh.
It's sad (yet funny) to love someone so delusional. I'm sure he feels the same way. Except for the funny part, seeing as I'm going to be burning in eternal damnation while he's singing hymns in heaven.

Alot of times I'd agree...
A couple things...
1. I've heard this guy give prophecy before and if he's wrong he'll say so...he's not too proud to admit he's wrong or said something out of fear...
2. If anyone has ever read "The cross and the switchblade" or seen the movie that was made of the book, you'd know this guy is no wuss. This guy deals with crack heads and drug lords on a daily basis. He's got a pair comparable to Chuck Norris.
Our grandfathers spent most of their life busting their ass for our parents and surviving things like wwII and the great depression. they didn't bother to try and explain dinos and if God cares about gay marriage....
These are all topics we've made relevant today... They did what society required of them, let em be lol.
My grandfather never got out of 7th grade and spent the rest of his youth in a coal mine.

So we should all go work in a coal mine and not think about what's going on???
I actually do care about things like civil rights and humane treatment of others.

Actually, here's my party (if I have to pick one)... Far from a lib. It doesn't take a lib to call this guy a nut!

In our article yesterday we highlighted the fact that Urban warfare training drills are taking place across the country as top analysts as well as officials predict a potential “summer of rage” across Europe and America as civil unrest from the economic fallout builds.U.S. Army To Buy $6 Million Of Riot Equipment
Summer of rage..when Europe heats up this summer their are going to be fires all over.Fires of Discontent.
There’s no question that U.S. authorities have been closely observing riots that have toppled governments in Iceland and Latvia and also threatened to do so in several other European countries. The fact that they have contingency plans in place to deal with such scenarios should they unfold in America cannot be disputed.
The U.S. Army War College in November released a white paper called Known Unknowns: Unconventional ‘Strategic Shocks’ in Defense Strategy Development. The report warned that the military must be prepared for a “violent, strategic dislocation inside the United States,” which could be provoked by “unforeseen economic collapse,” “purposeful domestic resistance,” “pervasive public health emergencies” or “loss of functioning political and legal order.” The “widespread civil violence,” the document said, “would force the defense establishment to reorient priorities in extremes to defend basic domestic order and human security.”
The white paper is 55 pages long, and vary scary.US army is to get 20 million to start with and more soon.Combat gear for domestic civil unrest.
Now do i believe the pastor,Don't know !! but their have been similar Revelations coming out recently close to the same type as this. For one tent city's are springing up in LA,NY,Chicago and other large city's.It does raise the possibility, mainly because people are not prepared for these types of problems.

When a storm comes the animals all run and hide right before it hits. These are signs man has used for prediction sense the dawn of time.Their is always signs before calamity hits. And God always prepares his people. Not unlike those that left the towers before they fell or those that New Orleans before the floods.Their testimony's are surreal,I have heard them myself.
I will say this Obama can play his fiddle while Wall Street burns all he wants but soon the street will force him to stop and turn and look at them and explain WTF he is doing wrong.
Personally anything can happen at this moment in time, because when all the answers seems right but turn out to be wrong..Well what can you say but be prepared for the unexpected.
We get, that is the US..about 6 ships a yr in dry goods, freeze dryed ,and the US bought the last 3 thats has made it to port.
IM just saying, not hoping, just saying.it pays to stay on top of things.
Trade in material assumptions for spiritual facts and make permanent progress.
I'm just saying, all the things you described are the events of men. If those things were to occur then they would be our doing.
The pastor is a nut. Just like any other person who comes and tells you they have a link with God. He's got some kind of mental disorder that causes him to either a) hear voices, or b) feel he needs to lie to justify himself.
Has common sense left you people? Someone with some assumed "religious authority" says something freakish and suddenly you think the off the wall statements of a common man are paramount or something!
===============================
I credit this guy with dealing with some rather harsh elements of society and trying to turn their lives around, but anyone who is too heavily involved with organizes religion turns into a mentally weak and impressionable mind. He may have a pair comparable to Chuck Norris's, but he has the mental strength of a David Koresh follower (in other words, not much).

I agree. I'm sure there are plenty of crazy people out there who do good things. Does that make them less of a nut? Nope!
And anyone who tells you that God is whispering things in their ear about imminent catastrophe is a whack job. He can go save the world for all I care, but that does not take away from the fact that he's got a mental problem to make him say stuff like this?
How about you religious people defending this guy think about this. When nothing happens to match up to this guys statement, how many people do you think are going to be driven away from religion after it's all done? This just makes religion look even more crazy for some people that were just looking for maybe a bit of real answers in this world.
Do I think religion is a bad thing? No, not at all. I think it can be a comforting source for a lot of people when it is used with some sanity and reason. But this guy is off his rocker and just because he did some good things should not cause people to lose all critical perspective on this guy and others like him.
I believe there is a God. I am actually very much quite certain of it when I look around and see a universe of order. However, I do not believe that God is going to take the time or effort (whatever the f*ck "God" is) to whisper in peoples ears about what is coming up in his planner.
