OMG...do you remember the fun you had playing hide and seek? When was the last time you actually played a game like that? Or how about just going to a park and playing on the swings or merry-go-round and monkey bars? LOL! Those were some fun times.
Double dutch jump ropin', hopscotch, four square, jacks, tether ball...do kids still play like this at schools during recess?
Comments
YES! lol They still play games .. though they have now banned all my favorites from the schools ... dodgeball, tetherball, red rover... all banned =(.
My favorite things I remember from early childhood... building forts in the woods and having wars with the neighboring kids. Mud fights, sliding down big hills on homemade sleds, tieing my race car to the back of my brothers bike and him taking me barrling down the street( often face first) but it was still soo much fun! lol making stink bombs with horrible smelling perfume bottles, putting my storm troopers in the sand and watching my dad chop their heads off with the lawnmower.. putting pennies on the railroad tracks to get flattened.. crawfish in the road .. lol those were the great things in life... and yes I still swing on the swings and jump in the leaves ! and run through the sprinklers just because I can!
No, I had a super nintendo.
Yeah I remember my childhood days... I'm just a little girl playing a doll... and my brother always tease me...
I punch him in his tummy. and he cried so loud...
When our mom comes, I want him to be quiet so my mom won't spunk us....
Ahahaha

I put down my book of learning tagalog for this topic. Well lets see. So I remember in Primary School Power Rangers, Transformers, Pogs, and usual playground games were fun. I remember I played Power Rangers with the other kids. They always made me the Black Ranger when I wanted to be the Green Ranger. I never knew why till I grew up and thought...hey I was the Black Ranger, because I was black and I loved to dance...sweet. Ha ha ha. Pogs was fun, I'm suprised it died so quick (or maybe my generation was late with it). I still got a few of my X-Men Pogs.
There is just so much to childhood. Riding on my bike to the lake and I remember that smelly kid on the bus that smell just like plain BRUTE. Ahhhh....

Not anymore. Now kids are too busy smoking pot and crap. It's true.
when i was in my primary school. it has been really a long time since the last time i play hide and seek
Hide and Seek was awesome! We also invented our own games like "The Bag Game" lol. Roleplaying was fun too.
We're all Geniuses. Most of us just don't know it.
I played a game of tag last week with my 3 year old nephew.

-Oh Gee; I bet that was fun. Lol, jk. Good for you. It's definately not as fun as when your younger.
as you can tell I still play hide-and-go-seek but rarely. I'm older now <.>__<.>
Lol yeah, we made our own game called 'The Game Of Doom' lol which was basically tag but if u got tagged you joined the original tagger rather than being 'it' and then u had to catch every1 to win. man THAT was awesome!

When I saw the title of this thread, I immediately thought of THIS.
Hmm... lets see. My earliest recolections were from when I was 5 or 6 actually. I grew up on a farm and so did a lot of my early childhood friends. I used to climb trees, make forts, have actual mud fights and all sorts of things. The great part about living on a farm is that there is lots of stuff you can just pick eand eat. There were fruit trees everywhere. Black berry bushes galore... Fresh vegetables like carrots you could pick right out of the ground, wash them and eat them and nobody would give you grief for it because it was good for you.
I remember one time my friends and I gathered up some potatos, made a fire and waited till it burned down to red hot coals and then we threw the potatos in there and covered them up and had them roast in the fire for a while, then we ate them. Great fun. I wish more kids could have experienced the kind of life I had when I was growing up.
As for games I played in school... well it was soccer, baseball in grade 7 and 8. Before that we actually did play dodgeball and red rover because they didn't ban them yet. Even through out high school I spent more time playing basketball and all kinds of other sport and just being outside then I spent playing video games, though I did play my fair share.

LOL sounds like what I did growing up.. yes I too remember picking peaches from the trees and growing stawberries and tomatos. Loved picking blackberries until my sister was bit by a rattlesnake doing that.. she made it to the hospital in time though luckily. After that we had to stay away from the black berry bushes . Though my activities differed .. I was in ballet gynmastics, volleyball, tennis, swimming, diving, and cheerleading. I also remember my sister and I hiding in the trees behind the ball field and when the boys hit balls out there we grabbed them and hid. The coach sent them into the woods to get the balls after practice once and we threw the balls at the kids and they ran out of the woods screaming there were ghosts in the woods!!
I didn't have much of a childhood, unfortunately. I was bullied all throughout, and I was always afraid of confrontation. As a result, I spent a lot of time isolated, probably why I ended up so much into computers.
It took me a long time to be able to go out and have fun, by which time my "childhood" was pretty much over. I do wish I could've had a bit more fun in my younger days, and I guess I'd like to now, if not for the fact I'd look a total prat

I had my best friends living across the street and we played every day...they had a super nintendo and I had a sega and we also loved to play outside....then I left the school to get into a GATE Program and we kinda drifted apart

I think my fondest memory is picking and eating mulberries.
I'd go out and pick a bunch of them and eat them and when it came time for lunch I wouldn't be hungry and I'd get yelled at my mom or grandma and they'd know what I was up to because mulberries would stain my hands purple. Still was very fun though.

Yeah I also remember to play hide and seek,.there was a time that my playmate didn't see us for almost two hours... and she cried, she tought that we already go home and left her... after a few minutes, we appear to her.. and we all laugh....
also I want to play doll with my neighborhood friends.

Nah, even as a kid I thought the other kids were childish. Then I started reading Nietzsche with 12 and childhood was over.

Don't remember very much..just flashes here and there...remember drawing some stuff don't know what...big thing i remember is taking anything electronic/mechanical apart and putting it back together, but even that is just clips in my mind.
Oh well.

yes, i remember my childhood. it's a period called freedom. no homework to do , no works assigned to do... no struggle between people
the very last time i played hide and seek and stuff in the amusement park, i was in my primary school. much details i can't recollect, but i remembered i slipped away when i was playing hide and seek and bleed freely. but i ignore the wound and kept on playing. when i came home, my mama was scared but i said i'm ok. i felt all-conquering and afraid of nothing when i was a child. but i'm older now and gradually feel powerless to many things.
I remember playing hide and seek with around 10-15 other kids after dark, or make homemade slingshots out of thick rubber bands, strings and a piece of leather..then have an all out war shooting berries after eachother. Awesome childhood. Whats sad is that kids today stay more and more inside playing on their x-boxes and wii's then actual interaction with other kids. I had to put strict rules on the computer and on his consoles for my son so he grows up with atleast a moderate of social skills and learn how to play with others.
