Yeah I didn;t play GW very much, only a few levels. So indeed may be wrong in my analysis of it.

But all i am trying to say it that some may like that more than the others.

I hate it when people talk about LoTRO's animations being bad but not pointing out that WoW's animations are some of the most garbage can trash available.

DAoC has nice animations and particle effects for sure.

    AoC has decent ones.

I actually enjoy WoW's animations. The movement of the characters as they deliver blows, or while running shows that they put some work into the characters, and all of them use a full 60FPS mo-cap style rendering (not tue mo-cap, but looks like it thanks to the amount of frames used)...compared to LOTRO which uses 30FPS renders which gives a "skipping" look to the visuals. Like they missed something.

But, AoC still has the best in a game right now. Pure mo-cap renders equal win. The secret is watching the run of the female hopping along compared to the male gait of movement. Realistic. Weight and balance versus approximations works way better for that realism.

    Cheers

WoW's animations are garbage? AoC has decent ones? You are beeing totally subjective and biased, as anyone with eyes attached to their skull can easily see that AoC's *motion captured* animations are one of (if not, most likely) the best animations out there.

It is preferable not to travel with a dead man.

When i personally say the animations in Lotrol are bad, what i mean is that the character seems to be floating off the ground.

All the other beautiful graphics and game play could not make up for this....and hence i quit.

In Aoc the anmiation of the characters when fighting (melee)is simply un-matched by any other MMO, in fact i could as far as saying that you would be hard pressed to find animation of this quality in any other computer game.

Doubt me? Roll a Barbarian, look at his two hand sword play and his dual yield, he performs clear and consise moves which are just a joy to watch.

That was largely my impression of LOTRO, too.  Funny thing is, I never really noticed it til' I played AoC.  The gfx are good and the art is terrific in Lotro, and hey, maybe the whole floating thing is due to playing an elf which doesn't leave footprints even in snow...

It wasn't bad enough to make me want to quit, though.  I quit because the gameplay just wasn't my bag.  I may still sub one day just to level enough to explore.

Anyhoo... agreed on the animations.  I think DDO is the only MMO to come close, and even they have horrible animations while walking with weapons out.
