Simple question on skills

Is there a limit to the number of skills you can learn?  Or how far you can learn them?

Given enough time can someone learn everything?  Just curious.

Hmm interesting.  Thats actually one thing I like about Horizons (now istaria).  Besides the crafting which I kinda like, and playing a dragon, which is awesome, is that I can learn and master everything there is to know.

If I can do that in Darkfall, then I may look into it more.  Growing into a god like character is kinda nice.

You can learn any quantity of skills you want, but it has been stated that past a certain percentage level skills will start to degrade if not used frequently. What percentage this starts happening and how frequent has not been publicly tested (to my knowledge).

So you can learn all the skills, but my guess is that it will be impossible to keep many skills past the softcap percentage without spending all your time cycling skill use.

I am not convinced that skill degredation is in the game at this point.

I am not convinced either, but since no conclusive testing has been done by players, I can only go by what has been released by AV.

There is a limit, just not a hard one.

Skill degredation is  non-issue as only skills u dont use will degrade. Anyone can make sure to use everyskill at least once everyday to avoid it.

First thing u need to know is hat noone knows this for certain, we dont know what the numbers are and they havent told us anything specific.

But generally its like this, at one point ur skills will hit a soft cap, after that point all ur skills will start to increase at a slower rate. This slower rate has no cap, and will slow down ur skills indefinetly in an ever-incremenetal fashion, unless u degrade skills to get back towards ur softcap.

So mathematically speaking, u will get to a point where every skill gain will have to much time between it to be viable in any way.

Thou nobody knows the numerical location of the softcap or how fast the increments become insurmountable.

Also, if I where to guess id say there where several pools, one for crafting one for melee and magic and one for general skills.

But I could be wrong about that.

    Man!

Skilling up in DF is like getting your post count up here. It will slowly raise as you play. Nothing you can do about it. Just play and have fun.
