FC should have had DX 10 ready for lauch, they expected to, then they confronted more peoblems than they expected, they were/are working with technicians from MS for that and the 360 port, they weren't able to implement it properly , and they still are not done with it.
That is bad, but the lesser of the 2 evils is delaying it till it works properly instead of patching it up in a non proper way.
Boxes shoul have the DX-10 part removed, however printing them ll over again wouldn't have been possible.
I wouldn't have put it in the box until the thing was working fully, i can't say anything else than it was a bad thing.
I can't feel affected as i don't run on Vista, nor plan to do it, but still the box says so.

I would have been fine waiting.I usually wait close to a year before I try an mmo anyhow.Consumer attitudes pre-launch affect this process tho. If Funcom hadn't released on a slated date then the same people who are eager to point out now about what was absent at launch (as if most of us don't already know)...would instead be screaming that it didn't release on time...as well any other imperfection they can find....it's really a no win situation.
This DX 10 bashing is utter nonsense.I would like to know what exactly these flamers are expecting from DX10?Because you will not notice the difference anyhow unless some one points it out to you.We won't see any game master DX10 for quite some time.All we will see is biots and pieces of DX10 like a few areas with nicer shadow effects like in LOTR,honestly i could do without and really would not notice it in game.
Like another poster mentioned ,i would rather see the resources used to make crafting the elite part of the game.This is one area that IMO has not been done very well in any game.Crafting alone if done VERY well would be all that i need to rejoin the game.The problem is that crafting needs to be a pre thought before the game goes live,you can't really add it in later w/o alienating the rest of the drops and the game.However in saying that AOC drops are for the most part poor and could use some help there,if from crafting that would be the icing on the cake.

Ah...reading is fundamental ...or at least..not misreading. Sorry. I can go both ways with the decision...they could have waited or released and patched...it's their game..so i'm willing to wait.
With its current state of graphics, you probably think you are playing in DX10,!!! AoC has the best graphics out of any MMO out there in the market currently, kinda scary really once DX10 comes out, will make other games graphics look 10 years older....that would make Darfall's graphics look 15years older....thats scary..
