They have that problem in AO once in a while, if you’re going to play a funcom game, it’s something you just have to get use to, they always end up fixing it eventually
Ok lets stop this before it turns into a troll fest.
For those that don't play AoC there is a very clear message at login stating that there are some cases of high latency which Funcom or the ISP have no control over. However those that are responsible for it are fixing it right now. Even so I was on this morning and had an average of 60FPS on high settings.
So any further comments about Funcom or AoC being crap because of high latency is pure trolling in the highest degree and really this thread should be locked because it has no point and has already been explained.

???
I never said Funcom is crap because of high latency. I'm just saying players have been getting high latency. That's all.
And I disagree with that "Funcom has no control over" comment. Some companies almost never have any latency issues while some companies like Funcom have them all the time. You know why? Because Funcom buys it's server service (or whatever..) from some B-list server provider. In business you get what you pay for.
"Our technicians could see that some players lost connections to the servers but the cause for this was outside of Funcom's network (somewhere in the internet)."
I was sure this was going to get turned into a "FAILCOM INCOMPETENCE LOL" thread though.
This is obvious a shamefull troll attempt. Everyone who actually plays the game knows that this issues was external to the game and was out of their control, not because they said so but all the trace routes done by tens if not hundreds of players showed that the problems resided on a node in amsterdan.
Please refrain from trying to bash a company when it has nothing to do with a given problem. If you wish to criticize please do with actual issues or features you disagree, intead of trying to feed on this kind of things.

It was not just "some players". Hundreds of players had this problem.
I just wish Funcom could get their act together so we wouldn't have these technical problems every week. Maybe they should change their server provider or something?

Yes, it's armageddon, the game is totally unplayable now and FC should start provider hopping!
There are unconfirmed reports of FC experimenting with nomadic virutal servers in order to avoid random internet nodes giving them a bad name. The crucial point right now seems to be virtualization of the hamsters.

just for the record...FPS and Latency are 2 totally irrelevant issues. Your frames per second is based on video and graphic processing, while latency is the amount of time it takes to communicate with another server over a network.
Your fps may be 60 fps, but if your latency is 4000ms, thats still a 4 second delay, no matter how fast you are processing the graphics.
I haven't noticed any latency issues at all. Maybe it's your connection?
Same here no latency issue, runs fine for me
I believe they have fixed it. It started yesterday and continued today.
I hope they do something so that this doesn't happen again.
And i believe that you should read other posts in this forum, and the full info posted by players in the official forum http://forums-eu.ageofconan.com/showthread.php?t=114593 as the problem was in a node located in Amsterdam, outside of FC's network and server system, it was, indeed, the internet.

Lol, blame it on the internet? I gotta use that sometime.
I was on for 4 hours last night (11-3) and for about an hour there was 1 person in global complaining about crazy high latency. However it seemed like he was the only one as I was getting <60ms and everyone else in global had fine latency.

Actually, if you read what the players found when tracing the problem the route on those that had the problem stopped at a node in Amsterdam, before reaching FC's servers, i don't know what was the problem with that particular node, but the players that performed the traces, and that read the posted traces done by others (FC asked players to perform route traces to find out where was the problem) confirmed what was said, it was a problem outside of FC's network and system, it happened to be an internet route node located in Amsterdam. Read it on the forums, several players reported this to be the case, and the trace information confirms it.

He doesn't have one. He is only posting other people's experiences and not his own from October 2008.
Well looks like the problem is fixed for the majority of people. Good job in nailing it down to a little over 24hrs when it is outside their actual control but inside their support scope.

It is preferable not to travel with a dead man.
