An MMO without full loot is a waste of time. So, the only MMO's that darkfall can be compared to are like EvE, UO, AC1. I really enjoyed darkfall in beta, haven't played since "release", i don't get why people say the AI is bad, it seems really smart to me. I mean just fighting goblins they will run when losing and shoot off arrows at you from range if they aren't doing well in melee. One gets injured and a ranged one comes in to melee and the injured one runs to range. the other 3 mmos out there seem to just have mobs that target and fight.

Based on the comments I've read, MOB AI seems inconsistent. Players report intelligent AI, like you've mentioned, while others report odd AI (not attacking the nearest player, but instead picking one farther away, just standing there on respawn, etc...). When it works, it does seem to be better than mob AI in other games.

Based on the comments I've read, MOB AI seems inconsistent. Players report intelligent AI, like you've mentioned, while others report odd AI (not attacking the nearest player, but instead picking one farther away, just standing there on respawn, etc...). Mobs will go after the weaker player, if that player happens to be farther away, the mobs will still go after him.
This is not to say that there are not some mobs (somedragons, cough, cough..) that are currently bugged.

Do they have the water issues with mobs worked out yet?
A number of clans used the bugged out mobs around water to get easy gold.
My friends have said that a majority of the sync issue mobs are fixed, although it does seem to reoccur from time to time.
Water still seems to be the nemesis for the mobs AI though... just wondering is you've seen improvements in that area?
Yeah, sure the AI is "Bugged" was it also bugged when they used it to beta test the games features, and stress the servers......

Sorry, this reminds me to much of dark and light, and the fans are some of the most delusional i have ever seen.
I have not seen anything in this game that leads me to believe there is any AI in it other than "Target closest" and "attack".

I didnt pay any mind to you when u first started because i thought you were somewhat skeptical but not a freaking hater...I dont anymore, you just post slander in any little thing looking and hoping for something to go wrong so you can post it here...
Theres a shitload of issues wrong with the game, but they come mostly from the lack of money the indy dev team had (to create proper billing, build more servers, animations) but the game is good, most of us like it
The previous thread u made about taking 7 years for this game to be developed and posted some crappy videos (that I could make with WOW in the beginning, on low graphics and at level 1) was obviously just baiting material
And yes, the monsters in df do this: try to dodge melee and archery, go for the lowest health individual, call for help, and run in zigzag to avoid hits when they are about to die. They also have the system tab where the monster talks to you: if you are hard to kill he says "He is tough & worthy or something" and if you run away he will taunt you
Some may think its bad AI, most including me think its pretty good for an mmorpg

Any FPS player can see the simpistic nature of DF combat from videos. Its cringe worthy. Likewise those videos .. not a single one have run through without some obvious desync issues. Especially anyone on the boats. Also wasn't dragon animation was simply awful ?
You dont need to play this game to see its apparent flaws... but then you do have the wonderful AV community forums and its inept lead... Mr Lord Tasos. Then there is telling things like removing the ingame player counter.
DF flaws are very apparent and for all to see. Which is why NDA went almost up to "release". AV lost control shortly after and lost lots of credibility.

I don't "hate" the game. I however have the ability to spot a turd when i see one, because i have seen this before, many times. Most of my postings are to tempr the incredible amount of blind fanboisim and hugely (i chalk it up to inexperience) exaggerated claims and praise. A lot of it stems from taco and crew and how they have acted over the years this thing has been in development.
I was never a skeptic because i knew what i was looking at, and i have never one criticized anyone for enjoying the game, i will however call out anyone who makes wild claims about this game. Most of my posts speak for themselves as far as my "Credibility" on any subject, it not my fault that some here are so overwhelmingly blind they cant see the forest fro the trees.
I do admit, i have been simply trolling lately, and i apologize for this. But there comes a point, when talking to someone who has their fingers in their ears, that it becomes pointless and futile to have any sort of discussion, and its even worse when you present the contrasting evidence to their face, and they still go on and on.....
I would have been more supportive of this game (as i enjoyed the concept) if it wasn't for the rabid fans, and the developers themselves.I am normally the champion of indi development, being one myself.
What we have here, is a small developer over promising, under delivering, all at the same time criticizing other games, developers and community, while not even reaching one tenth of what they have. It also doesn't help they seem to have attracted some of the worst people on the internet, and are praying on the uninformed.Some of them employed as community mangers, and moderators, one that continually comes here to flame any criticism of the game, forgetting that volunteer or not, he is representing the company, he can say hes not till blue in the face.
My recent trolling is due to the quality ( *eye rolls* ) of discussions from fans of this game, Reap what you sow.
It is DnL all over again, wish a dash of Morning, and a scoop of Dream.

Can you please clarify the highlighted for me? I know the Darkfall launch isn't going nearly as well as any of the fans have hoped, as is apparent by the mass of people who can't even seem to purchase the game much less log in, but the ones that are in game aren't reporting nearly as many problems as those that aren't in the game.
Some of the launch points are valid... sync issues are apparent, billing and queue issues are obvious.. and server downtime can be viewed from any G1 with the darkfall server status program... so I could potentially clearly see when the servers are up and when they are down -- and the server has been reported as going down quite often. Oh and the cheats of course.
But the overall gameplay consensus is a good one, I haven't read an overly large amount of posts of unhappy players... when they are actually able to play.
And that in itself is the idea behind a good game. Quite simply a game that is fun to play. I don't think this will go the route of DnL if the stability, billing, and cheating fixes are put into place. (although they ban now for cheats -- still not a valid fix in my eyes)
So maybe you can explain a little more to me about why this game seems to be pulling the wool over everyones eyes.. because I truly am not seeing it.. I just see an indy game with a poor launch. Much bigger companies have had piss poor launches too... I think an indy piss poor launch looks exactly like what we're seeing.

In all the posts I read above here. I haven't seen one single raving fanboi. The most I saw where a couple of people who enjoy the game that are even willing to point out it's problems and stay realistic on the matter. Not to mention, I didn't see a single wild claim made in this thread thus far. More or less people asking whether certain problems with "AI" Have been fixed yet...
This is anything but a thread where you cannot post your opinions. Formatting them in the words of a troll just loses any credibility out of what "Little" you have on a forum to begin with. You could have easily posted without just trolling, and fyi it is pretty obvious with how inconsistant and unrelated your troll posts are.
Just know, most people who are currently on the forums right now remain mostly realistic to problems with DF, the only defining factor is whether or not you enjoy what is up for grabs. You shouldn't drag trolling into a good discussion, especially if the reason you are trolling is because of all the "Raving fanbois". The people here seem pretty realistic, so you are just knocking on wood. If you are really a "realist" like you say, then you should realise how pointless trolling a simple thread like this is.
If you really want to take it out on the random masses for your own hate of the developers and the fanbois, then what better place then the official forums? I'm not saying stop trolling, in fact, I agree the devs delivered a very inconsistant/unethical marketing behavior, but why would you try to ruin a neutral thread like this? Trolls who are really good go for the most expected, this thread is what you would almost consider inpenetrable to trolling because it sticks out way too much.
And just for the record, I don't play any MMO except planetside atm.
There is no intelligence ( even artificial ) in that post.
